We are excited to announce that System will be playing some dates together in 2011.
We also want to thank you for your loyalty and support, not only to System Of A Down, but to all of our solo efforts as well. We have no master plan of sorts - we are playing these shows simply because we want to play together again as a band and for you, our amazing fans. We look forward to seeing all of you!

Hm, might be interesting. I'm hoping their hiatus will cause some new inspiration. Toxicity is amazing, and anyone who says otherwise is just on the "it's cool to hate on SOAD because they are popular" bandwagon, and Mezmerize was okay. Hypnotize was just awful though.

No, I never did listen to the first album. Just Toxicity and after. I totally forgot about Steal This Album! I wasn't terribly fond of it either, but it was okay. Oh well, different strokes for different folks. Hypnotize was pretty weak to me, but it doesn't matter.

most of rock band's first album is the loudest and has more rage on it.
it is understandable if people said that SOAD last album is weaken as they get old, refering to KoRN, Slipknot, Metallica, etc, etc.
but it's still great to have them back to business, i remembered i did starting mosh-pit on gigs when some band doing their cover back when i was teen :D

They will play in Gothenburg, which is just 2 hours away from me. I might go see them, but I would need to save alot for that...

Bit of a ridiculous bump I know, but I wanted to share a quick story. My cousin saw SOAD on tour after their first album, and had a beer with them on stage. He still has Daron Malakian's crushed can.
OT, interesting development. I go on and off System but any new material would be worth listening to, if it happens.
