Socially awkward relationships

Knowing my past I've had a few people I know ask me for relationship advice(BAD IDEA TO DO THIS I WILL EASILY GET YOU DUMPED IF NOT CAREFUL). But just yesterday I had an odd question posed and I don't know how to answer it.
Is it weird if you are dating your brother/sister in-laws first cousin?
I've know people to date their second and third cousins but a relative by marriage is it weird or not this is where I get stuck.

no because their is no blood relation to you.I dunno. You can logically explain it, and sure, people wont stop you or complain about it because of the "technicality" of it. Even so, it is still weird despite the fact there is nothing actually wrong being done.

It like dating your friend's sister it only awkward if you knocked her up. Even though it your cousin, it your cousin by marriage not blood so unless you grew up with her, isn't that weird..

My brother got married while I was stationed at Camp Pendlton
He asked me to be his best man (I had never seen his bride to be nor the family)
I drove up to Santa Monica where they were getting married
Put on my sincere suit and walked in
The Maid of Honor was her older sister
He got married and left As is traditional in our family (maybe in all cases IDK)
The best man took the maid of honor out to dinner
It was instant attraction. we stayed up till dawn talking and I took her home
We started dating every time I had leave and a couple time she drove down. She stayed at the Hostage House (Hostess House which is a facility for family and dependents to stay for cheap. Like 2.50 a night
The uncomfortable part came when I had 30 days leave and we pretty much spent all of our time together. My brother told me that her parents and the grandma really didn't approve of me dating her. Being a Marine and all. I stayed at my parents and would drive over and pick her up for whatever activity we had planned. When I picked her up we had 5 sets of eyes staring at us. Her mom, dad, my brother, SIL, and a grandma. No conversation. Just staring
Same scenario when I took her home. It put such a strain on the relationship we started arguing and finally broke up. The stupid part of it all was the "See? We told you so" backlash
I never went back to her parents house again even when invited.They also has something to say about that as well.
What we did or didn't do is beside the point
But I made it a point from then on to not even date sisters or cousins of friends of mine or of fellow Marines.

Hmmm well here is one.
My old roomate had a gf who I had never met before. So she finally comes over, and you know I do the usual "nice to meet you" and what not. 5 minutes with her and I could tell she was a little....different. Now I don't mean like crazy crazy, but rather she just loved to push buttons, non-stop. Dunno how we wound up on the topic but she starts drilling me about my "experiences". Feeling uncomfortable, I just gave short, one word replies (sorry I just find that stuff a little personal). Well at this point things got really awkward, as she decides to sit on top of my lap and start grinding on me, to see if she can get a reaction out of me. May i note that this is happening WHILE MY ROOMATE IS IN THE SAME ROOM, WATCHING THIS.
Now say whatever you want, but I'm a guy. And when a chick is grinding on Jr., he tends to get excited. Anywho, I take her off me, and she is freaking laughing cause of my "cute" reaction. I know she was just messing with me, but damn, shit was just awkward, especially with my roommate there.
