Spotify is music program that's similar Grooveshark. It is free to use as long as you get an invitation code. They do have (optional) monthly subscription setups which are just to get rid of ads and if you want a mobile version. Spotify is a huge hit in the UK and it recently opened its' doors to the US.
What Spotify has to offer:
Playlists - One of the popular features is being able to link playlists to others. You can simply google a certain type of playlist and get tons of hits. This is great for those who like to discover new music. There are lots of websites dedicated to spotify playlists. You can find a playlist for almost anything (rock, indie, rap, love, sex, drugs, etc).
Collaborative Playlists - The name says it all. When you make a playlist of yours a Collaborative Playlist it auotmatically makes it private. The only ones who will be able to see it or add any songs to it are those you link the playlist to. So you can have a nice big Fakku playlist that anyone can add songs to.
Artist Radio - It's in the name.
Inbox - You can send songs to your friends just by dragging a song to their username. You can send a message along with the song if desired.
Public/Private Playlists - Don't want the world to know you secretly love Insane Clown Posse? You're able hide any playlist from being shown on your Spotify profile.
Library - You are also able to play songs from your computer, and make playlists with those.
Specific searches - If you want rap music only from 1985-1988 you are able to search for just that.
...and lots more! - I'm too lazy continue.
Invitation codes:
I have around 8-10 invitation codes. Ask for one in this thread, and I'll PM you the code. It's free to try, might as well give a shot. You might end up loving it. If not, oh well. It was free anyway.
Spotify playlist sites:
/r/spotify
Spotifylist
Share my playlists
Spotibot
Pitchify

There have been a couple of threads for it already, but then again, this is probably the best of them. Might have to update the master list again and hope it gets stickied.
Anyway, I love Spotify. I loved it a lot more when you got unlimited listening time, but hey ho. Unreasonable to expect that for free, but it was perfect for parties. It's still a nifty little program and supplies a great product at a great price.

Sweet, I used Spotify when I when to Europe a few years ago and I love it. It's too bad I live in Canada where it takes forever to get this stuff.
Oh well, we can download all the music we want from the internet without fearing any retribution so it's not all that bad.

Thank you dos, I was unaware of the previous Spotify threads.
Azuran, It sucks that Canada doesn't have it yet. I hope it comes to you guys soon!

From their Terms and Conditions:
The Spotify Service can be accessed (i) as an ad-supported free-to-the-user service having no monthly cap on listening hours or a cap on number of plays of a unique track during the first 6 months following creation of your Spotify account but thereafter a cap of 10 listening hours per month and a cap of 5 plays per unique track (the “Free Service”)
Spotify isn't for everyone! At least you gave a go. The big reason I stay on Spotify is for the music discovery and playlists.
