Strange pop ups

Today, VLC player pops up like hell I didnt do anything, open VLC player? NOT!, Im just playing my game peacefully but then suddenly VLC pops up and spammed my computer like flash flood so I immediately turn off my PC to avoid more problems. I returned the second time but the problem was still there so I decided to changed my keyboard and then I think its gone for now so what do you think is this? is it some kind of a virus?

what you can do is first remove, reboot, reinstal, and reboot again. If that doesnt work you can always run your computer in safe-mode and scan your computer

Go to start and type 'msconfig'. Then go to the startup tab and make sure to uncheck VLC if it isnt checked then uninstall and download the newest version. I would suggest scanning your computer with an Antivirus if you have one. I have gotten VLC pop-ups before but never to the point where I had to shutdown my computer, re-installing VLC fixed it. As of yet I haven't gotten a VLC pop-up. Good luck! I hope you don't have a virus!

Does your faulty keyboard have shortcut keys (aka Media keys) for music/video? Sounds like the keyboard is flooding your computer with a signal to open your video/music player, maybe the key is broken, or some other internal part of your keyboard causing it to send this signal.
