T-ara (í‹°ì•„ë¼)

I think it's about time T-ara had their own thread here.
T-ara/í‹°ì•„ë¼, pronounced as tiara, were originally a 6 member girl group and have been around since 2009. They are managed by Core Contents Media and their first hit was Bo Peep Bo Peep, released at the end of 2009.
In 2010, they added a new member Hwayoung (thus 7 members now), and released Why Are You Being Like This(Wae Ireoni) and YaYaYa.
They started gaining more popularity especially in 2011, with the release of the retro-inspired Roly Poly, and the darker-themed and more mature-soundingCry Cry. 2011 was also when they first debuted in Japan, with the Japanese version of Bo Peep Bo Peep.

2012 was really a year of ups and downs for them. Firstly, they released the Cry Cry repackaged album with a new song, Lovey Dovey, which was the song that really made them recognized as one of the best girl groups around.
Lovey Dovey
With this success, they added 2 more members, 14 y.o Dani and 18 y.o Areum, though Dani was only to 'officially' join the group when she got older. Now with 9 members (8 active), they released Day by Day, a drama MV starring the 8 members + Dani.

Then shit started happening.

Basically, member Hwayoung was suddenly kicked out of the group, with no clear reason being given. T-ara were subjected to lots of hate, with many fans demanding to know the real reason behind her departure. This controversy forced them to suspend all promotional activities, which lasted from end July to mid September 2012.
After their short hiatus, and after the negative feedback had subsided, and now with 7 active members (+1 still inactive Dani), they released Sexy Love.
Sexy Love
As of yet, their plans for 2013 have not been announced.
IMO, they are really good, good enough to be in the same league as SNSD. I've seen them live about twice, even have a photo with them. The problem, and many people also agree, is their company. CCM does a poor job of handling them, there have even been a few articles of the girls being mistreated by them. I really wish they had better management, because honestly, they have so much potential.
So yeah. Now here's some pics of my favourite member Jiyeon being all adorable and cute and shit.
