Wow, Romero sure has been busy, with being involved with another Dead movie, too.
I haven't watched the original, but I think I'll watch both versions just for kicks.

Every review of this I saw said that it was a spectacular movie. I wish I could have seen it in the theater, but I'm definitely going to check it out when it's on DVD.

Watched the movie just now.
Haven't seen the original, so I'm not gonna draw any comparisons here (what I actually consider a good thing).
Well, I give this a solid 8/10 and would recommend this to fans of this genre.
It's not as gory as you'd expect, and the plot is pretty good actually (just wish they'd elaborate on the back-story a bit more).
Liked the camerawork, it captured a kind of oldschool flair, which made me feel all nostalgic. It felt like watching a classic from the 70s, visually enhanced. Audio was a bit muffled though, guess they didn't overdub it. A bit hard to hear sometimes.
The acting was so-so, but the general atmosphere of the movie mad up for it.
Also, some real badass scenes in there. Like the one stunt the sheriff pulled with the knife stuck in his hand or the car-wash section.
