The motivation proclamation

So, hello guys & l ladies, how do you motivate yourself for important work that you really don't want to do? I start to write a schedule on my computer. Big fat topic: To do. Make it a list and spend 20 minutes choosing a nice font. Print it and lay it next to me on my desktop. Lay back and relax. For two hours. I pick my pocket calendar and make a timetable for the next day. Look at the clock and quit my work for today.
The next day, I get up early, and because I am so tired, I watch my favourite show until 11 am. I get hungry, decide to go shopping and choose the farthest supermarket. At home I cook some very complicated meal. Since I get a bad conscience, I print some more to do lists and hang them on the walls. Waking up the next day, I feel immense pressure on me. I have to relax and go for a walk. I accidentally meet a friend and while we have a cup of coffee together, I complain about all the stress I have.
To release stress, I play videogames till 2 am and get up late the next day.
The next day I totally panic and stare the whole day at my notes. Don't write anyting. Since there are only two days left I buy energydrinks and work two days and nights straight. Complete the task in the very last second.
I feel like I'm doing it wrong...
Are there any diligent and responsible persons here?

Just fucking do it. What are you? 12?Fucking LoL...
But he's got a point though. Yes, you are doing it wrong. Perhaps instead of playing the video games till 2am, or sleeping in, or coffee/bitchfest with friends, or all the other procrastinating that you do, you should use that time to do the task. If you have a week (which it seems from the post you do) and still want to maintain a healthy lazy level, then just do one or two task a day. That alone should increase your productivity. In fact you may find that once you start the first project it is easier to do more and more. After a while, POOF! The whole to-do list is an "Already Done" list.

I motivate myself by telling me something that I know and it'll make me feel smarter. That something is "Rei means Zero, Rei means Zero, Rei means Zero!!"

I motivate myself by hitting myself in the nuts with a hammer... then I tell myself, "If you don't go out there and do this shit, you're gonna suffer the consequences."

Human beings need structure in their life, and it sounds to me like you need a schedule to keep track of what you do and how long you do it.

That kind of schedule is mostly useless, use your time for something more productive and contribute to society.

Stop the bashing. This is a very current trend among teens - young adults these days. The notion that they should be doing something, but either the courage, motivation, will, or desire does not surface enough to encourage them to do it. I know it's the same for me. All I can say for advice, is just do something that is productive. ANYTHING. Read, watch the news, do some studying, do some push ups, go running/jogging, go to the library. Do one thing. Anything productive. Slowly, over time, add and build onto that.

I have kind of the same problem, although it's more of an "avoidance" thing, cause I just don't want to sit and force myself to do anything. So I bargain with myself and say "If I just do this one thing" like write the first paragraph, or do an outline, or put away just the shirts...just one piece of whatever it is that needs to be done.
Seems to work cause I'm OCD and end up doing the whole thing, lol. Just remember it's all mental and you have the find the trick that psychs yourself out.
