This song makes me think of my mom, as the title stated :)
The one thing she wishes in life is get a chance to go to the Florida keys and have a house by water. She's always listening to Jimmy Buffett music and wishing she was on island time.

The biggest reason this song makes me think of her is the fact she's so medically messed up, disease here, cancer there, spinal disease over there, but she still smiles and thinks about the ocean and sand :)

rrragh! i get depressed every time i hear that song! well no not, depressed per say. but i get this mushy feeling and i get all mushy. ugh... It doesn't help that the dam song is catchy too, so i catch myself humming it whenever it plays on a movie or something.

Sorry about your mom, tho its cool shes seems kinda upbeat despite her situation.

yea it does, don't know what hes singing about. The songs got this really islandy feeling... tho i gotta say... that pic is really killing this... thats not the singer is it? not that i have anything against fa.. lar... whal..... people like that. but its distracting... i mean its 2 mins into the son atm and i cant even pay attention to the guy singing with that pic.

edit: cripes! if u look long enough his (thats a "he" right... oh man.. if thats a woman..) back looks like a face. O_o its staring at me...

That is the singer, he weighed over 700 pounds at one point in his life, and stands over 6 feet tall. He died due to a heart attack (big surprise, eh?) and he was honored for his death in Honolulu in some place... but he was the only non politician to have a burial there, or something like that, I know there was cremation involved too...

Don't want this thread to head into a discussion on weight or anything, but its amazing how much people let themselves go. That's one of the more upbeat songs she used to sing. Most others were some ancient folk songs about

And in a way, I can totally relate. Chores are a SAD, SAD affair. Not the time to be humming happy songs!
