Top Chef Fakku August - Hold Your Arteries...
0
Longevity won June's competition, and in a flash of brilliance, he decided to mix things up. This month's secret ingredient cooking technique is...
*Iron Chef Announcer Voice*
Deep Frying!.
Hold on to your arteries, folks, it's gonna get greasy in here. But not really. Deep-frying gets a bad rap, but if done properly, you get all of the light crunchiness without the excessive oiliness.
As usual, here are the rules:
Contest officially starts now and ends 00:00 PST (GMT-8) on September 1, 2012. No entries will be accepted after that time. Voting starts whenever I wake up on that day and will last for five days, after which we will announce the winner. Winner gets mad props, rep from me (and from others?) and the chance to choose the month after next's theme.
Do you have what it takes to make the perfect deep-fried food? Enter now! Good luck, and get cooking.
(Why was this still up? Derp. Edited to unsticky.)

Must the food be cooked in a deep fryer? Or can other frying methods be used (frying in hot oil in a pan, etc)?

Enough oil to cover the item with out it touching the bottom of the pot/fryer unless you have a basket.. still need to cover the item. I use a wok.
