Torrent noob.

Hi all,
I'm a torrent noob and I need help.
I just torrented a game, and downloaded:
txt file (contains the serial code)
RAR file
R00, R01 ... all the way to R19 file.
And a SFV file.

In the description, it tells me how to install, but I'm dumb, so I can't understand.
Please translate into something that people like me could understand. :D

Well when it says unpack it means to uncompress the .rar files. To do this you need something like a winrar found here http://download.cnet.com/WinRAR-32-bit/3000-2250_4-10007677.html .

You may already have a decompression capabilities so before installing go to the first .rar file and right click and select extract to if possible. Doing so should uncompress everything else. If not you may need something like winrar.Make sure all the parts are in one folder also.

After unpacking it should create an image file. In this case an ISO file. This ISO file can be mounted using daemon tools lite or other iso image mounting programs. When you mount an ISO file it creates a virtual disk but im not going to any great tech savvy detail so just go here http://www.disk-tools.com/download/daemon and mount the ISO file using daemon tools lite after installing.

After mounting it will give you an select the disk drive and a installation launcher should pop up. After that its just installing the game.

Edit: Wait Daemon Tool Lite. Does that mean I can only play the game for a short period of time until Daemon Tool Lite Trial time is passed?

You don't have to buy daemon tools lite when the trial expires. It never really expires because you can use it over and over again even after the trial is over for free. Though after installation it may never need the CD again for the game to be played.

Winrar, really? Use 7zip to avoid the trial expiring.

Also, I take it your other thread is no longer an issue, and I should lock it?

as for torrent. i have to tell you even though you have a top-notch anti virus (include internet security or so) you have to be careful, since it peer 2 peer program.. yes, it is a trojan's nest..

lol.. well i guess it is need to be informed..
i use Kapersky, when i used torrent from one of the User upload thread.. it didn't notice the worm until i close the torrent program (i use Bittorrent)..

You can only get viruses or malware from torrents if it is included in the source file. It goes without saying that any such problems incurred from torrents stem entirely from bad or unlucky choice.

does source file can be activated while it on .rar file?

The source file is the content upon which the torrent is based. When you download a torrent, you are merely receiving a copy of it.
