Toshiba L100 Vista/W7 drivers
0
I'm pretty new to laptops, I just got my first one ever today so I had something substantially more interesting to do during four hour tertiary lectures. The laptop shipped with XP which I am not greatly fond of so I up'd to Vista but I can't find any drivers (network/sound/vid card); my question is, do I need to use the official ones or could I use some sort of third party ones or what? I really do not want to use XP. Thanks in advance for any help.

You do not need to use the official drivers, if you have X graphics card and Y wireless, then any vista driver for X and Y would work for you.

A satellite L100, really? Running vista on that - you're a real trooper, kid.
As for drivers, it uses an ATI Xpress 200m (lol) for graphics, so you can just get any old catalyst pack for vista for those. Good luck with finding genuine Vista drivers for your touchpad, audio and chipset though; Toshiba ended support for the L100 product line four years ago and updated drivers for vista will not be forthcoming.
Edit: hey, whaddaya know! atleast for the psla3 model there's a bunch of vista32 drivers available

The thing is customed'd with 2GB and a 3.6 so there's no real problem. That and I'll be upgrading to w7 sometime within the next week or two. Either way cheers for the links.
