UHDTV suggestions

I've had this Vizio hdtv for about 5 years now and I think its about time I upgraded to a uhdtv. However, I'm still running Windows 7 and I heard the software isn't good at scaling up to that level of quality (so I was thinking of waiting until Windows 10 came out before buying a UHDTV). PS4 supports 4k which is all the more reason for me to invest in a new tv. Any suggestions on what brand to get? It has to be in the range of 26 - 30" otherwise it'll be too big for my desk to support.

Am not sure that they sell 4k TV under 40", you might be able to get 4k PC monitor.
Samsung and LG are the main companys who are trying to push 4k.

At the screen size you want 1080p or 4k will not matter as the both will look the same. it will only matter if you do photo editing.

There a 31.5 Asus for a grand or 28 in samsung for 479$ on amazon. Im not a fan of the 4k for tv/movies unless it nature/ sports. To me it look so fake, but as a monitor for editing photos/video it badass. And if you watch animu at 60fps it glorious, but im half blind now so hey.

Buy the right hdmi cable also. 6 footer is 10$ on the accessory tab on the page.

You should wait before buying a 4K television. There is not much content available at this time. However, if you want to buy one , I advise Samsung products. For monitors, I would say BenQ and Asus.

I'll concur with Samsung since they have more universal support. As of right now, besides the PS4, Comcast and DirecTV only recently started broadcasting in 4K. While I'm not sure about Comcast, as a DTV tech, I know our offered 4K stuff is very limited and only the newest receiver of ours 'kinda' supports it, we have to stream from the HR44 receiver to the RVU installed in a Samsung 4K TV to get the picture since the cable outputs to the tv are capped at 1080i with the exception of some PPV which is 1080p.

Better off just waiting for more supported products and options, Gen 1 stuff has that 'shiny' factor, but usually has a lot of issues.
