I was in the middle of playing Shuffle! for the first time and earlier I had noticed that my PC needed some updates and I was going to do that later after I finished with the game, So I am about 20 minutes or so into the game when all of a sudden the screen goes black and I think "Oh shit! the game just got messed!!" Then it goes to the log off screen then tells me it's installing updates and I am thinking "How in the fuck! did it just start installing updates without my permission?" I have my action center set up so that I have to allow for updates to be downloaded not have my computer do it on it's own since their is software updates I don't need like the update for IE which I don't use anymore so the update is pointless. I have never encountered this kind of thing before, I did not even get a warning, My computer was just like "Fuck you! I'm updating deal with it!" and completely fucked my game over and I think I am more mad about how it just happened with no warning rather than the fact that my game was interrupted. Can anyone shed some light on this issue? I really don't want this to happen again.

there should of been a pop up saying. Restarting your computer in XX XX and a option to stall for x time or disregard.

it's likey your fault for not saving often, underestimating the fact that it's only a VN.
If I ever got one of those, while I was playing my VNs, I save my VN, shut the program, and then Update. Problem solve, continues playing VN till morning.
Because those updates are seriously annoying when they start popping.

Possibility: The notification of the updates having been downloaded and installed popped up, but did not take precedence over your visual novel screen. You then pressed a key which would signify confirmation (ie. enter) for something within the game, and Windows accepted it. Thus, your computer restarted for updates.
