Wisdom Teeth Stories

Hey Fakku! Just got mine taken out about 10 hours ago and I'd like to hear your stories about getting yours out! After watching about 9 videos I took while I was extremely high I noticed I had a mark on my face, thought it was just dried blood but whoops! Nope.
The dentist actually burned MY FACE! So while I was in my high state I kind of hoped that it would turn into a scar. My reasoning for this was, "Well now you can do an awesome cosplay with a face scar."

Anyways, mouth hurts pretty bad and so does the burn, on the other hand I'm off work for 4 days and loving it!

So how about your stories?

Oh yeah, here's the burn. photo fakku 4_zpsmvgsdog2.jpg

My mom pulled mine without drugs or gas. Gave me Advil and a teabag. Mom is a dentist.

Oh lord I wouldn't be able to handle that.

You have my sympathies, OP. I don't have any wisdom teeth stories yet. Somehow mine haven't been causing me any problems. I'll probably get them removed sometime this year. Though if I'm going to have burns on my face afterwards, maybe not.

Was told mine would come in and needed them removed or they would mess up the work of the braces I had, but they never came so no need to worry.

Got them removed at nearly 15, just because all the teens in my district had them too.

But in fact it messed up, coz there was/is place so there were needed -- that's what other dentists tell me each time since them. Because when you don't have place for some teeth, it will push the others, but when you have the place and remove definitely one or more, the bone collapse there and it messes up with the surroundings.

Fuck the removing, I should have never go T_T

Got two of the top pulled out 8 years ago. Regular dentists kept nagging me to get the other ones, so I just got the bottom one pulled last year. Dentist said I could keep the last bottom one since it wasn't causing any problems. I went numb on all occasions since my dad works and I didn't want to take the bus with my mom while I'm fucked up on drugs.

Instead of being silly or strange while high on the drugs I was really mean. My mom told me later that I was just horrible the entire time. I got all four removed at the same time and I was sore for probably two weeks?

I feel like I'm one of the few who's never had any major problems with their gnashers.

Always hear stories about people who've had braces or problems with Wisdom teeth that required removal, but I never had any of that. Never needed braces and my Wisdom teeth came through fine (if a bit sore as you'd expect). Worst I've had was a filling.

Depends if their impacted. They have the chance of making your other molars crooked or jaw bone weak. Mine they just removed because she wanted to. I still have two baby teeth. They don't know why they never grew my permanents.

Luckily mine weren't impacted, my dentist just told me, "Oh hey, you should get these taken out!" And what did that get me? A burn on my face. ;-;

Everytime I hear people talk about wisdom teeth I always wonder when I'll go through all that because, at 21 years of age I still have yet to remove them. I'm not exactly a paradigm for dental health myself (had to get something like 4 fillings, 1 crown and even got an abutment+crown) thanks to my body's unexplained rejection of normal water, and yet despite all that I never had any trouble with wisdom teeth. Not that I'm looking forward to losing teeth.

I had mine taken out when i was 16. That. Sucked. Ass. I had four impacted so it was a top and bottom of both sides. I freaked out as they were knocking me out but they got me to calm down. Weirdly i could feel pressure even though i was under. Anyway woke up, knew exactly what i was saying by the way, and they sent me home. I was so numb. My tongue felt like a balloon and my lips felt massive so i sounded like i had something in my mouth the entire time. Taking the gauze out the first time was freaky (and i can handle blood but whoa!). Had to eat soft food which i hated. Had a weird taste the entire time from eating eggs a few days later. Got two types of painkillers, Perqs and a big 500mg Ibuprofen, which the IB helped even more. Went back in about a week and a half. They gave me this syringe that i had to fill with mouth wash to washout the holes in my jaw (I loved this thing because it got that weird nasty taste out of my mouth!) Had to go back to school when i wasnt fully recouped and almost passed out from the pain in mouth and it gave me a headache. I think i rather re-break my arm and go through the surgery a few times before i go through that again.

Still got mine. Haven't caused any problems so far.

Got mine out around 16-17 I think??

They had to knock me out because my teeth were compacted under the gums (basically they were growing in sideways and what they did was a medical procedure). Also learned how bad of a headache I got from Oxycontin (a common side effect) so never taking that again.

I got mine out at 17. I remember it was April 1st when I got all 4 of them out. So they put me under and that was it. I do remember my jaw when I got home felt like it was 20 feet long and they hurt me. So much so that I had to miss a few days of gym since we were doing track and when I ran it caused my stitches to open up again. Not good when you are spitting blood and had to get in ASAP to them them fixed.

What he told me was that he used an instrument that was apparently too hot and I had a reaction to it? I don't really understand it myself.

Got my bottom 2 teeth removed around 6 years ago. Still remember it though since I wasn't put to sleep.

Since my bottom 2 teeth were becoming ingrown I choose to get them done. They numbed me and started to go to work. It took about an hour and a half to take just one tooth out. By then the medication started to wear out, so I started feeling it. That shit hurt! Took another hour and a half for the second one. Freakin' 3 hours. That shit didn't stop bleeding for 2 weeks.

The top 2 I got done 2 years after that. Since the military needs you to have no wisdom teeth, they scheduled me to get those removed. Fortunately, it only took 30 mins and they put me to sleep for it. Not as bad as the bottom 2. Do remember though after the surgery, my friends brought me back home and we started to play Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. As drugged out as I was, I still won all my matches. They were obviously pissed.
