Women's signals: Am i delusional or what?

Reading people is hard especially if there is a bias of the reader towards the who is being read.
My problem is that I got this vibe that women like me in one way or another and I can't figure out damn which way is it. I can discern a shop keeper's smile from normal passing-by-happily smile. But sometimes I can't discern the "I'm interested smile."
For example:
There is this one particular girl I like and she rejected me a year before. We were in a group doing dinner and she was across the table. I saw her look at me and then she turned away. I caught her again and we both look away. She was so cute the way she looked away I had to get out. Is it possible she likes me now or is it my own fantasies? I mean why would she look away? We seen each other countless of times! DAMN YOU! Wait a minute i could just ask her... well i already wrote this so might as well get the FAKKERS opinion.
Second Example:
A different friend. I was a substitute for someone that didn't come to their party. We were talking about random things and friend B kept obsessing about a guy. She kept repeating liking this guy with a great smile. She likes people with great smiles. We know! I mean is that normal? I don't remember any women talking that way. Why do I get this feeling like something is being drilled into me?
Random Example:
Also what is up with women not telling the name of the guy they like? I mean they mention him but the name doesn't come up. It's like a puzzle. Should I care who they are but the fact they don't mention their name...
It's either they are hiding it from me or i am completely going insane about it.

If you think she likes you, ask someone else to watch her "signals" to you too: if they agree that there's something there on her side, go for it?
Might help clear up any confusion you're feeling and get an un-biased opinion on the matter.

I know how you feel. short of being tackled and molested, i have no clue if a woman is interested in me. i try to flirt a little and see how she responds, but it's still hard to tell sometimes. i think i'll try what Giz said aswell.

As for the smile comment...maybe she is hinting that you have a good smile or something. Or maybe she just likes to repeat herself.
For not naming the guy she likes...girls sometimes like to be secretive. And also, sometimes just don't know how much they like the person. Maybe they don't want who they like to be known by all if her feelings could change.

I find it odd when guys say they can't read women. I mean, can you read men? If you were a girl and you were trying to pick up a guy, could you read the guy's "clues" and tell if he is in to you? The answer is yes, you should be able to read women too.
Honestly, it is just about being able to read people. If someone is smiling, laughing, having a good time and is INTO you, you should know. The truth is, everyone is different in their social reactions. So picking up "clues and signs" falls somewhere between hard and impossible as a reliable skill. So what should you do? If you don't know if someone is into you, then chat them up and MAKE SURE they are into you. Then just go for it.
