Working with Photoshop - Maybe Fakku Staff can answer?
0
Hello everybody,
I recently got into editing and came across a few instances, where the result I got out of Photoshop didn't satisfy me that much.
I'm working with Adobe Photoshop CC 2017, again I'm pretty new and don't know all the details yet.
I tried editing a few pages of a manga but I came across text, that is not inside a bubble (usually with white background, very easy to edit) but in the foreground of some illustration/art with a lot of details. While I know how to remove text with a simple backdrop, is there actually a way to remove the text without destroy all the detail, sort of fill in the gaps to make it a little bit more pleasing to the eye and manage to edit it in a reasonable amount of time?
I'm probably asking the impossible but maybe there is some magic trick that I don't know of and maybe, if I'm very lucky, the staff of Fakku can answer that question. :)
Cheers!

Could you post an example of what you mean?
Off hand id imagine your best bet would be to blot out the text with white, then attempt to recreate the background detail with the heal or clone tool.

Spoiler:
This for example has a lot of details in the background and while the "content aware tool" and in some form manually redrawing the gaps in between helps, sometimes it distorts too much when you have the text removed.
But lets say you have the same kind of text in the foreground and in the background you have a lot of detailed haistrands. How do you manage to remove the text and at the same time get a good, suitable image? Yes, the area will most likely be covered in some sort of text but it can not hide everything, right?
I'm really curious what the Fakku Editors are doing, if they come across situations like that.
Cheers!
