ACTA good or bad?

So for all who might not know about ACTA you can read it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Counterfeiting_Trade_Agreement , do you think that this is fair game or that it is something that needs to be stopped?
short version: should the government be allowed to censor what we do in private on our own computers and the internet?

No, because the goverment would be abusing of their power, which in some cases would make the people revolt.

Just to clarify: the ACTA provides an international legal framework for dealing with intellectual property rights (IPR) violations. It is not a document about censorship in any way. As of today's date, it is still just a draft.
Overall, I think the ACTA is good news for companies across all industries, especially for the entertainment and technology sectors, as those two are hit the hardest with IPR violations.
What I'm not too fond of is how internet service providers could be held even more accountable for online IPR violations. If the ACTA were to require governments to heavily pressure ISP through public policies, then ISP would be forced to encroach on personal privacy for the sake of monitoring IPR violations. This section is still one that's undergoing heavy revision however, so we don't know to what extent the ACTA will involve the ISP.
For those interested in reading the exact text, it's section 4 of the current draft.

sorry i was chasing the green dragon that day, let see if i can make sense of my bi polar rant... ACTA bad, because it take too long to get new series, vols of anime and manga in the states and the only way people get to see the new stuff is by illegal means. ie torrents, streams and subbers... only way it will change is if the licensers in the USA makes it cheaper to buy and more faster release times. so ACTA is bad intil it make it better... sniff.. snort ^0^ f^&k yea.. what was i talking about

ACTA is fucking retarded. It's based on the notion that potential revenue is being stolen from companies/artists via pirating. But by that same logic, borrowing a game from a friend is 'stealing'. Buying a dvd from a pawn shop is 'stealing'. Buying a used game is 'stealing'. Hell, renting a game is 'stealing', as the owners of the intellectual property only make 1 sale per new product, and every sale after is secondhand. Are they going to outlaw those as well? Besides, while this is not true in some cases, people pirate because they wouldn't buy the product in the first place. There's no potential revenue lost there, as there was no potential revenue to begin with.
I swear, government officials are fucking stupid.
EDIT: now that I think about it, why the hell would ISPs even play FBI and report pirates? Considering the massive amount of people who pirate, it would be an equally massive revenue loss for ISPs if they banned half of their users. This would also be a huge income loss to companies that run online businesses. Less internet users = less potential profit for said companies. At the end of the day, someones getting fucked out of their money. More people would be at a loss for work then before ACTA was implemented, and with unemployment already becoming a problem in America, there's no way this shit would make sense fiscally or economically.
