A.D.D. + A.D.H.D., disease or evolution?
-2
So i had this thought whilst some kid was schooling me on how to use some new tech; it's not a disease that needs to be fixed, it's evolution. as tech advances so rapidly, it's hard for people(as a whole) to keep up. my parents still can't watch dvds unless i go to their house and set it up.
i think too many people are afraid of anything different, or so proud to think there is no room for improvement. so when something changes, they think it needs to be fixxed, and don't look beyond to see if the change might be better.
does this make sense to anyone else, or am i just high?

Everybody is born with ADHD, its just the most people grow out of it. Children just tends to do whatever they want to do and doesn't even give a shit on the world, but somewhere in their teenage years, they develop into sentimental beings that "cares" about what everyone is doing.
Amen to getting high.

I have ADD, went to a special college for kids who had stuff like that, ADHD, dyslexia, asbergers, etc.... crazy weirdos abound.
It's not evolution, it's just certain people can deal with it better than others. Also, meds help.

The problem I have A.D.D. and A.D.H.D. is how often misdiagnosed it is. It has become the "go to" condition for a lot of people. Oh you are troubled? You have A.D.D. You have trouble concentrating for some arbitrary reason? You have A.D.D. You're rude, condescending and have trouble getting along with people? You have A.D.H.D. It's ridiculous.
I don't want to fathom how many misdiagnoses there have been related to the conditions.

whether it's ADD or ADHD, it kinda sucks when people looks at you differently just because you behave differently...

its not a disease.. its a lack of connectivity in the brain. Thats the best way i can describe my Adhd. When I dont take my medication, it feels like my brain is disjointed and parts of it dont consult other parts before acting, or information isnt getting from one part to the next. Its good for the creative process only when it can be reigned in.

Do you have it?
Yes. I've had ADHD sense I was in the 5th grade. I don't take medicine for it though I don't see a point. ADHD can be overcome with will power but it's very hard to do.

so were you one of the 2 million kids that dont really have ADD/ADHD but their parents are to lazy to actually take care of their kids so they look for some excuse to why there kid is acting up and ADD/ADHD and a crapy doctor just hapened to be there.
or one of the few who actually have it

I, and several of my friends, have been correctly diagnosed with ADD or ADHD. Only one of us takes medicine for the condition. All of us are fully functional, contributing members of society, fully capable of making it in the "real world".
AD(H)D is something that must be worked around. You train your brain to realize when your attention is drifting, and you train yourself to react to that knowledge by forcing your focus back on-topic. It's harder for some to do this than it is for others, but I have yet to see any cases where it was severe enough to be truly crippling.
Medication should be reserved for the most severe of cases.
Come to think of it, this isn't all that different from dyslexia in terms of handling. The patient must rehabilitate his own brain.

people fear the unknown and different
anyway
people are stupid >.> i got add and.... like yous my folks cant watch dvd's if someone unplugs its... they think its broken.
whenever i tell someone got add or aspergers the first thing they always say is "are you taking medication?" um people just because im diagnosed with something doesnt mean i can be or needs to be "Cured" with pills. Why do people act like it some dreadful disease?
