Do you think this is sick
is this as bad as they make it out

A Pakistan Human Rights Commission official Hina Gillani said the maximum possible punishment for the parents was one month in jail and fine of just over $10 (£6).
Yeah, that's sickness right there.

[size=10]I don't think so, stuff like that happens all over the world..
It's a little weird in our society/societies, but in others it's not sooo bad; even if the cops arrested them for it.
For me, it's normal and for the people mentioned in the article, it was helpful... maybe the family feud would have ended.
Ah, but I guess it depends on how you view it.[/h]

What's sick is if those two kids stay that ugly when they grow up and then have an even uglier child. ugh.
Oh yeah, it's also kinda unfair to chain them to a life before they even have a chance to make one for themselves.

That's just the thing, it was NOT normal for them. They were not 18. They have NOT reached puberty. Therefore, according the Muslim beliefs, as stated even in the article, it was NOT ok for them to get married.
Look at it this way. They said the girl was crying when the police came in. The children OBVIOUSLY didn't want to go through with the marriage. These two families feuding were using their children as tools to end their arguing.
Get it now? It is NOT right. And it is very fucked up.

Like cooperboy321 said, those two kids are butt ugly. Marriage? Puleeze.
On a serious note, it's just wrong to force kids of that young an age to marry because their families want to end some stupid feud. That's just pathetic and immoral. Plus, even if young kids wanted to marry each other, they're not really mentally competent enough to make that kind of decision anyways.

Well I'm not slow and I'm pretty open minded.
Therefore, I got it to begin with. I was just posting a comment from one perspective. That's the reason I put: "Ah, but I guess it depends on how you view it."
I put that because I'm aware of the idea that it can be viewed as right or wrong. I see what's right/understandable in the whole situation and I see what's wrong/intolerable in it. However, it may seem that nothing about it is understandable. It's just, sometimes I try to look at life through others eyes; not literally.

Pakistan is apparently trying to crack down on the practice in any case. What makes this so fucked up is that the kids are still young kids by medieval (I wanted to go for a dynastic Pakistani empire but couldn't think of anything closer to Pakistan than the Seljuk Turks) standards when they routinely wed 11 to 14 year old girls to men of considerably larger (and typically higher) age brackets.
