EPA: Greenhouse Gases Endanger Human Health
0
Spoiler:
Obama's administration is putting a limit to the amount of Greenhouse gasses we can put in the air. You know why? ... Cause it's "A danger to the health of Americans"... That's it!... It's ALL about america and it's typically fat, annoying, un-educated people...
I'm american, and I'm thin, annoying, and educated. I admit to being annoying, but seriously, it's not about say.. The trees, or the wildlife of the entire world? No, America. "God's Country" -_-... Bastards.
"Oh, AMERICA is in danger because of these gasses... we JUST found that out. We've kown it's causing Global Warming and major plant and animal deaths for YEARS, but since it's AMERICA that's in danger, we care now"... morons.
Tell me what you huys think. I wanna know what you have to say about all of this.

Jesus. Grow up. You're biggest concern in all of this is the wording used in the EPA statement?
First off, it's not as though the fellas at the EPA over the past 4 decades have been finding information about environmental damage and saying to each other, "is it happening to American people? no? well fuck that shit then..." And then suddenly a couple weeks ago, one them found somethings that DID hurt American people, and the all went into a frenzy about it. A lot more went into and is going into this than that, and to say that they only got involved as greedy bastards protecting American interests undermines the agency, and much more importantly, degrades the work and lives of the people of the agency.
Also, I'm pretty sure that environmental scientists understand how an ecosystem works pretty well, certainly much better than your or I, so they probably recognize that damage to one part of the global ecosystem, even if it is seemingly unrelated to those American people, can be a danger to those same people.
Now, even if they had been sitting on their hands until they found out that there was danger to American people, is that really even something to get all that upset over? I don't think so. We are talking about a United States government agency and a United States administration. I'm not saying foreign affairs are insignificant, and they certainly aren't, but these people get their salaries from the tax dollars of these American people, and their first responsibility is to the American people. Especially in difficult times for the country like this, the American government should be most concerned about the well-being of the American people.
They probably aren't, but they should be.
So what I think, is you were looking to be offended by your government and like disliking it, so you took a little statement made by a government agency and picked it apart as being the pinnacle of American arrogance, when it was really just a small part of a statement about a much bigger issue.
If you believe that sort of thing, that is. Honestly, Global Warming seems to be hyped up a lot and isn't really what it seems. It actually seems to me to be a pretty good example of HUMAN arrogance in general, and geological evidence would suggest that we...just aren't all the big of a deal.
But believe what you will.

I think you're overreacting a little bit. It really isn't that big of a deal. Yeah, they could've said something more amiable than "the American public," but that's what they said.

Hey, I'm just getting my opinion out there. There was no need to insult me or critisize alright?
Yes, I could have taken it better, but the fact remains, they only did this when they realized it endangered them directly.
I hate it when people do the "Oh, it's not me, why should I care?"
You didn't need to write an entire paragraph about how I was wrong and how stupid I am for posting that.

The E.P.A has been shown to be biased towards an agenda in recent years. I don't take anything a Government body says without question. Especially, a Government funded body (there are government entities that are privately funded such as National Public Radio)
I see this as nothing more than an attempt by the Obama White house to control the economy even more than it already does. With the current attempt to grab a chunk of the American economy. I sense that the whole cap& trade legislation is a "spread the wealth" policy extended to foreign countries where the so called "rich" nations have to fund projects in developing nations...because...yeah...
But believe what you will.
Global Warming was pretty much debunked as a hoax by the "climate gate" documents taken from the English University. Documents show that the "evidence" the supporters were using was just skewed and misrepresented. Even going so far as they even suppressed evidence contrary to their views. Never letting the evidence be heard in public. Now, that certainly shows that somebody had ulterior motives than what they claimed.
Climate Science is linked err chained to Government funding and by that connection you know that the information is bias.
Welcome to S.D. it's tradition for us to make large paragraphs and thoroughly explain our positions and evidence. Dante didn't mean anything by it.

Well of course it is do you put your mouth on a tailpipe and suck it off.
And i wouldn't be so quick to dismiss global warming we still don't know much of the planet or how everything effect's climate. Plate tectonics was first introduced 1915 but scientist are still researching all of it's effect's and causes.
Whether it causes global warming is debatable but it is bad to your health.

Fiery_penguin_of_doom, can you go into more detail on how climate change was debunked?
I think you'd be hard-pressed to reason that climate science is a scam from the "climate-gate" emails. Although they showed substandard research (obviously unacceptable), it's been overblown.
Take this as you will, but I believe it puts things into perspective: The CRU Hack (Update II at the bottom leads to another thread)
The comments section is also worth reading.

As I pointed out, evidence contrary to the idea of "man made global warming" was suppressed, even destroyed for all we know. Some evidence in the emails also details different ways to "slice" the information so that it comes to a certain outlook. Already, that is two blows to the credibility of Global warming researchers. Then there is the obvious link of funding. Politicians can basically blackmail scientists into only showing what they want shown as they can withhold grants and various other funding.
remember that graph from "An inconvenient truth". ever look at the expanded version of that graph? Probably not, probably never even knew the graph he used was zoomed in to only a small section as if one would look at the whole graph it starts viciously tearing holes in Al Gore's theory.
A.D.D. moment: Anybody see the hypocrisy of Al Gore promoting the idea of man made global warming when he's flying around in a personal Jet and his whole catering service. His Carbon foot print is well beyond what the average planet killing American puts out. His electricity bill is double what most Americans pay in a year!
Spoiler:
Long story short, they are trying to cover their asses for being caught with their pants down so they'll pull just about anything to cover it up. I am well aware of bias and ... not quite corruption but, we'll go with "naughty behavior" in the climate science community. I mean, it's hard not to be bias when a politician signs your paycheck for your results.
