How many of you guys actually vote?

And it's okay if you don't, it's just that I want to know. I've been reading these political topics on the forum and I am astounded at how politically savvy and smart not only FAKKUers are, but many others I have met in my day to day life as well as countless other forums and websites. I mean, I go on a hentai site and I go to liberal arts college so I've gotta be around some more liberal people here ^-^
...but we love to say Americans are stupid as hell. I think many are for sure, but is it those who are actually more likely to vote (*cough* older self-righteous conservatives *cough*) that are stupid or Americans in general?

I vote but sometimes don't since there is no exact answer without explaining it first.
When I started Fakku I thought here was gonna be nothing special but after having a rough argument with some Fakku-ers here I have realized that the guys here are WAYYYyyyy smarter than my local adult peers here.

I vote, and try to be politically active because it is one of the only ways we can even have a small chance of changing things in America, even if the government has forgotten about the people.

I have never voted and most likely never will this is why...
The peoples vote is only a popular vote on who ever is liked the most.
The electoral college vote is the vote that truly ends up deciding who gets into the white house simple as that...
Now I will ask you a question am I wrong on anything mentioned?
P.S. If there was an option I would rather vote for myself...

I don't vote, unless the dancing monkeys known as president elects actually spew out ideas I can get behind and live up to those ideas. But, since none have broken the mold I can't say I would vote anytime soon.

I don't vote, I don't really give a shit about who will be the president or the prime minister (in my case, Australian).
I mean, it will end up the same as the last one anyway.
Bunch of candidates spouting bullshits they said they will work on but in fact it's the other way around..

I vote, I just wish others voted based on political views and actions rather than it just being a popularity contest.

I never voted (the few times I had the chance to do so). I'm quite disillusioned and don't think that it will change anything. Still, I considered and maybe I will vote next time. There is a pretty new party here that seems quite good, but they most likely will end up like the Greens (of which they are pretty much a successor) and become just as bad as every other party. But I guess it can't hurt. More than voting any other party, that is.

There's a lot of interesting people. I'll say that much.
OT: This is going to be the first presidential election for me. I was 17 during the last election.

I think the people who are disillusioned shouldn't be. Things don't happen over a few years, they happen over many in this case. It's true we vote for people somewhere else to vote but if the higher ups in whatever country that may be knew we meant business and they did something we were suspicious of, if we stepped up further and demanded them tell us what the fuck they were doing, we may be not only heard, but feared. Our freedoms are not going to be given to us.
In my opinion, apathy on this subject is exactly what they want for people like us. It takes a smart person to realize they are mostly alone and not in control of their situation. I don't truly blame anyone for that. But try and see it as a passive-aggressive allowance by our governments. They don't want thinkers. They want us to stay apart.
Also, never think other people will never or haven't ever come to the same conclusions as you.
Lastly, I want to say that I'm glad to see everyone weighed in and that we're pretty split on the subject.

I don't vote simply because I figure in the long run the presidency is a joke. Lately, it seems like the President is merely a figurehead that goes around visiting other countries while the real power lies in Congress who make it seem like presidential power can be completely invalidated. These days it seems like there's only a president because it's easier to blame 1 person for all of the country's problems as opposed to all of the people on Congress, who are basically children who accept bribes.
Considering how much Republicans will go against anything Democrats say regardless of what it is, it seems like the government is just one big formal gang war.
Well, that, and common sense is a modern day super power and any amount of logic in the place of morality is forbidden, so I figure the polls don't need my help to pick someone to further run the country deeper into the ground.

I distinctly remeber making a plea deal to take a felony on my record in exchange no court and no time. i recently found out at the cost of $80 and a lot of hassle running all over town, that i'm not a felon. all these years i could have voted. now i just keep forgeting to go register.

I only voted when It had to do with our borough but actual voting like who's going to be prime minister or president. No I don't since I see no reason to if they make such big promises only for it to be empty.

OT:Yep I vote. Indirect constituency is as delicious as ever, which is not at all.
