Japan slips into a Recession.

It has come to my attention just skimming through the yahoo news that Japan has slipped into a recession. I heard that it is expensive to live there and all that jazz, but I have never thought that that'd happen. They produce kick ass electronics, awesome RPG games etc. It leads me to ask the question: What's the world coming to? And WTF is going on with global economies?

Everyone is tumbling and it's not just by a small margin. This is a good candidate for everyone to run around screaming "the end is nigh". Though we'll still slap you for being obnoxious but, we all will still understand.

Japan's economy had always been too dependant to their export commodities.

with the economic and financial crisis hits their main commodity buyers such as US and Euro-countries,coupled with the declining value of their currencies(and thus strenghtening the yen value,which in turn increases the input price of Japanese commodities),the demand of Japanese exports hits a major slump.

and that major slump had been the main cause of their deteriorating export-oriented economy.

although i'm happy,because high yen value means lower prices here.

I just heard them talking about this on the news.

They said that Japan has the second largest economy in the world, with the US being the largest.

I didn't know that, and when I first read this topic, before I heard that on the news, I thought, "So what?" But after learning that Japan has the second largest economy . . . all I can say is, "Damn."

Many countries are already in recession, and others are predicted to follow suit, regardless of whether we want it or not.

However, looking at USA and Japan, their currencies appear to be strengthening instead of weakening, mainly because investors are now looking for a safe haven. The dollar and yen are what some would call "safe and stable" currencies... at least for now.

Then again, it could be that of other currencies weakening a lot more compared to the above two.
