Racism is used as a crutch/weapon by minorities

Since I found the majority of the posters in the serious discussions thread matured and opened minded, I wanted to see your views and experiences on this topic. I do not intend to create a negative outcome but a bigger perspective on this issue. I am not a racist and I do not pin issues on groups of people but pin the issue on a single individual. I am part of the minority, being born into a first generation Asian American family. I find that sometimes the minority uses racism as a crutch/ weapon. Myself personally has never used it as an crutch, but I find individuals using it as excuse for a mistake or short comings.

What are you thoughts on this? Is it permissible to do so? Pros? Cons?

Well your kind of pinning the issue on a group with this whole thread but i'll run with it.

Yes I have noticed this happens alot where the minority can be racist and the majority can't. Becuase they are or were opressed they have the sympathy of the "extreme left". Then the "left" attacks the majority when using similar attacks yet award the minority for it.

My best example this. So I was just sitting in my PS class when this guy from behind me yelled out "your just a bitch ass cracker"(he was black). Nothing happened everyone ignored him and just keep one doing what ever. Then the man he yelled at (he was white) came back to say "well your just a bitch ass nigger". Soon the whole class was in an uproar crusing him out and it turned into chaos. I really don't know what happened next I said fuck this and left. The point of this being that even know they both used racial sulers only the person of majority got in trouble.

It should also be notted that not all minoritys act like this if I even needed to say that.

I am not sure what you mean and what wording I used to pin a certain group, but if that is what you think okay. Other than the topic you provided, sometimes with my ethicinity we use the excuse called " Filipino time" and we are always late 30 minutes. I find it just being lazy and takes up value time. Also, we talk in Filipino sometimes to talk behind people's back. What I am trying to get across is, is it okay to use our cultural differences as a crutch?

There is a lot of racism still in the world, but we also too often sacrifice honesty to avoid seeming racist, and a lot of minorities like to get offended in situations that definitely do not call for it.
And although it is true of all minorities, black people DO play the race card a lot more than other minorities, or at least the do in my experience.

Racism of any kind is one of the most annoying and useless traits a person can have. It can very quickly turn a reasonable discussion into retarded blather. And that goes both ways. But for some reason, if I'm talking to a black guy, and I make a joke about how he has 3 fried chicken joints on his block, he can get offended, but I'm not allowed to get offended or annoyed when I hear a black guy do that fucking white guy voice that no white guy has ever actually had.
Yes, slavery is horrible, and the period of slavery in the United States was a terrible mark on our history, but I never owned a slave, and this black dude never was a slave.

Shit, my family didn't even own slaves. My father's parents were both immigrants, and both treated pretty shitty as such. And even though parts of my mom's family have been in Virginia forever, they've always been poor, and never owned slaves.
So I have no white guilt, and owe no explanations to any black people, or any other minority, for being ass much of a dick to them as I am to white people.

It's worse to be nicer to any race more than your own, because then you are treating people differently based on race, and thus, a racist.

We really need to get to a point in this country, and in the world, were people don't inject bullshit about race into everything just to make excuses.

If you want to be mad, be mad at people who are still genuinely racist, and see you as scum, not at me for giving you a pack of watermelon flavored gum last Christmas.

Racism in the world will never go away. We always hate something. We're born with it. I hate annoyin brats. I'm selfish and hate sharin (cept my Hentai I'll share that). I hate Rich People who act all high and mighty (who doesn't?). When an Asian coughs I shiver a lil. If there was peace we'd find something else or it might collapse and cause some serious burning. There can never be peace. Peace is a mere illusion or if you wanna compare it to something a commercial. Hatred will always be there to balance the World. Don't believe me? Look at disease. We cure one another comes. It's a cycle. Fix other things other then Hatred. I don't know what but figure something out. We can solve the hate problems now only to cause a newer one in the future for our children to bare and solve. Lifes a bitch. Deal with it.

I concur wholeheartedly. I myself am a minority being that I'm native American. I have yet to ever call somebody a racist unless it was obvious that I was joking. Usually, a joke relating to someones dislike of something that doesn't involve race such as not liking star wars I would reply

"What are ya? Racist?"

Changing ones behavior based on those around you isn't racist. If black gangsters are beating and robbing people. It's logical to assume that the two black gangsters you see probably want to beat and rob you. It's not racist to assume the Hispanic guys hanging out in front of Home Depot are illegals.

Racism, I don't get it at all. I've tried to make myself feel hatred for entire ethnicity, I've failed horribly at that in an attempt to understand how racism works.

In my dorm room right now there's ten people. Typical night for me, Mexicans origins, Africa origins, and a Italian origin, and an Slavic origin.

If anything, they're all equals in my eyes, they all act retarded a lots.

When people try to pull racism card on me, I tell them to shut the fuck up and grow up.

I tend to make enemies. OH well.

Edit: Am I sort of racist for preferring white chicks? I cannot agree with that because I can't get it up for black chicks. Not my favorite aesthetic looks. After all, my favorite colors is White+Blue XP

I don't think it's racist to be physically attracted to one skin color over another. That may be because I also prefer white chicks, but I know it's not racist, that I just hate black girls, because I even dislike very tanned white girls. They're just not appealing to me, physically. My ideal girl is white and perhaps even pale. I just like them that way, just like I prefer shorter girls to taller girls.

I like to wear dirty old cloths and hang out in front of Home Depot just to confuse people for a moment or two.
And occasionally pick up a job, of course.

I would agree that it isn't really racist to be attracted to certain women over others. Just like some guys prefer different body types or features, it's just a preference, not like you see women as inferior human beings because of their race. Girls do the same thing.

I can't do white girls--no ass.

It's really pathetic when...minorities (sorry, my family's black, and most of my encounters with others go into the bucket labeled "girls", rather than buckets labeled "Asians" "Italians" "Irish-chicks" "Latino...Latina....Nicaraguan", but I digress) use it to limit themselves.
You all know that one guy who gives up because the system is "set against" them.


What I don't get is the "race joke"
I don't understand racism to begin with, which could be a problem too.

Also, every once in a while, one of my white friends will do something dumb, and I'll lend them my race card, is this wrong?
