They don't seriously think of the food chain! But rather than eradicating them and start a new problem of extinction of the feral cats and rabbits, how about just migrating them somewhere else.

This reminds me of Adlai Stevenson's famous Cat Bill Veto. Pity the island didn't have him to use gentle satire to tell them what a dumb idea this was.
