Rules and Laws
0
Main question: "What do you think about rules and laws? Are you against it or for it?"
Personally I really cannot decide which side to choose since rules in general is "double edged sword". For one it provides restriction for people, in which leads to etiquette lifestyles and just more proper in general. Too little rules may cause chaos and troublesome events in society, too much and people might think it's a dictatorship. What are you're opinions?

Make it simple: all activities that may cause others harm or loss without their consent are forbidden.
But well...even that is quite ambiguous...really, i don't think people will ever reach an agreement over this positive/negative freedom issue.

As much as an anarchy may sound appealing, it is nice when rules and laws are put in place and enforced. Imagine there was no law against stealing, murder, rape and all that other crap. We'd have a lot more violence and "crime" in the world, than we do now (as well as exploitation&abuse But that's a sub-topic imo and kind of hard to explain).
Me, I wouldn't mind a world without rules and laws. But something tells me a world without rules/laws increases the chances of you dying earlier on in life. So I support rules.
In short, with enforced rules and laws, you have order.
Without enforced rules/laws there isn't much order.
It's just like Fakku's community. The more rules are followed and such, the better the community is. However, when they're broken and not enforced... things go bad.

There will always be rules and Law even if its in small places. Say everything went to hell, everything would break up and stuff but small places that shit hits the fan every day already like in the moutainous regions of Peru. Would still have laws and rules.
I like Laws and Rules, just because I know without them I would have been killed two or three times already. (And without a save point to be found I would be shit out of luck) I do agree with mibuchiha that there is a point that laws and rules would need to be broken in order to preserve a soiciety worth living in (well loosly based on what was said)

Though regardless if I like it or not, you are correct but the more order you will lead to an anarchy government, sometimes anarchy governments abuse their powers for their own personal needs. Then before you know it it there are terrorist groups, Rebellions and such.
Now without order, there will be a lot more crime and chances of you dying in an early age. So the question is when is it enough?

That's pretty vague, so i am going to say that everyone will become "Yes-mans" since no one will be able to share their opinion with others because they might harm someone both mentally and physical. Which it will lead to a point where everyone will be arrested due to the fact that they broke the rule.

I think we need rules and laws. So i support it.
And i cant give better reason than above above me already posted. :)

Overall, I'd say rules and laws for obvious reasons, but in my opinion it's merely a choice of evils if the laws in question are specifically the currently enforced laws.

It depends on the laws really...
I agree with most of them, because unfortunately there are bad people who somehow dont be nice to others just for the sake of being nice...
Gut laws such as ones against hugging - I hate them...
Also with the Taliban, Men can marry as many women as they want and they are considered "his property"
One time a woman was raped, and charged with cheating on her husband (who had other wives anyway) just because she was forvefully raped!
She was stoned to death and her husband helped in the stoning.... That is just horrible!!!
No love in that place!
Women should be treated so much better than that! I treat them as good as I can, like they deserve... they are generally really nice, sensitive and loving.. and that's as good as people can get... I love and appreciate them and show a lot of respect - anyway, some laws are the worst!
also laws about staying in another country for too long... It's all one world, Earth.. We share the planet, so why be seperated anyway?
I am a very loving person, love is my life! I can really really love somebody that I know only online but have never actually met.. I'd love if I could visit them, and stay as long as I can... Just so I could be with them and cuddle them ^^'
There are some stupid laws, also one's against holding hands or ice cream!
But I would not like to see all laws gone, there are pretty important and reasonable laws - The world needs some changes, I'm sure you'll all agree that it isnt perfect

Well i think i agree with most laws in my country, but one that quickly comes to my mind is that all men MUST go/do the army >.> i am not interested of army at all nor that stuff.
That's what comes to my mind for now. Otherwise i see our laws kind of balanced.

Im from Ireland, the only country in Europe that said "no" to te Lisbon Treaty.. They are making us vote again and this time more people are gonna say "yes" - Why make us vote again? That is not democracy!
If the treaty is passed, it is very likely that people in my coutry will have to do army service to and likely be in a war - but at the moment, Ireland is neutral and never gets involved in wars.. If they tell me to join the army, Im leaving the continent!
No way I would fight in a war... I dont believe in it at all - I love love, Love is my life and I hate violence altogether... I have never been in a fight and never will be... I am the most loving person ever... I'd do anything to avoid hurting another person

As for laws and rules, they are indeed needed but on the other hand, too many rules don't make anything good in the end. Also some rules or laws based on some religionic tradition are no good. It would be best if some situations decided by law could be solved by "common sense" or something like that. Nothing is more frustrating than seeing someone who oviously did something bad get off the hook just because their lawyer found some gap in the laws.

I like rules and laws because I do not want to be shot while I'm getting robbed. I'd prefer neither of these actions be performed on me, at any time. Unfortunately, I've been shot at and robbed. Fortunately, they were not at the same time. It looks like the people have not adhered to the laws correctly. If people treated other people the way they wanted to be treated more often, a.k.a., be nice to other people, there would be less need for what ever force to over react to petty situations.
