Should the U.S. affiliate in foreign affairs and why?
Should the U.S. affiliate in foreign affairs?

I would go with no because the U.S. is already affiliating in almost every important affair in foreign nations which affects the U.S. both good and bad. For example, since we affiliated in international trade, we already are in debt to China. I mean seriously, how on Earth could the government rack up a $14 trillion debt so easily 0.0

Actually it's all more complicated, but it's late.

I don't think trade is the reason of our debt; I think we should continue trading with other nations.
I agree with Ron Paul that we should not have military in other countries, thus severing military affairs.
which answer should I give to the poll?

I'm in the same boat.
Government should maintain trade relationships with countries but the government should not station military bases all over the place. Also no more invading other countries because they might be a potential threat. I'm all for national defense and trade agreements, but I'm not supporting militarism.

So you think America should cut off all economic ties with other countries? Look, I'm all for being open-minded and thinking outside the box, but you do understand that going cold turkey on foreign trade would bring utter ruin to country pretty quickly.
I'm as opposed to worthless wars that drag on in places that overall really don't appreciate it as anyone else. Reducing the military budget even below 2000's peacetime levels is undoubtedly the #1 thing to do to get America's deficit/debt problem back on track. Re-engaging in a production/export type economy is the next most important thing to get America's economy back on track and tackle the trade deficit. While difficult for a highly developed country, it's far from impossible, just look as Germany.

It's kind of a tricky topic. I am just gonna go strait to the military talk, because that foreign trades is a must need obviously.
We all think that we should just stay out of whatever conflict, to not get involved and get ourselves into deeper shat than we already are. But on the flip side, there are countries who EXPECT us to help, and if we just cut back, people are gonna be saying, again, negative things, like we should go help, or that we are choosing who we want to help. It's a vicious circle, where we lose if we go, and we lose if we stay. Like I always say, we can't do jack without pissing someone off.
I say though, that it would be more benificial for us to stay, even if we would get smack talk from other, least we ain't costing a fortune for it.
