[Locked] Time Travel

Well as you've problely already guess by the title this is a forum to post your personal theories on time travel. Of course there are no right or wrong answers(untill proven otherwise). I'm looking foward to reading everyones thoughts, theories, and feedback.


Lets say in the future it is possible to go back in time, but when you go back to lets say when you were 5, your subconscience, essence, sprit, whatever ends up in your 5 year old body and you just become your 5 year old self again, remembering nothing of the future, and go through life normally... now lets say when you were 5 you broke your leg riding your bike, once you get to that event again you remember nothing but have some kind of bad feeling about riding your bike on that day or something, so subconsiencely you remember, so 1 of 2 things happen 1.thinking logicly you shrug it off and ride your bike anyways only to break your leg or 2.you choose to listen to your gut and not ride your bike, say picking 1 would keep you on the path you orginally followed and picking 2 would alter the future thus starting a whole new timeline... so I guess what im getting at is that preconnitive abilities, seeing into the future, psysic powers, deja vu, etc. are all the result of time travel or time distortions and that there are an infinite number of out comes that stem from each event thus creating an infinite number of parallel universes each being a different combination of choices... ugh my brain hurts now... well looking foward to all of your posts

Time traveling is something nobody knows what will happen if you mess around with it but I believe if you where to time travel in time i believe anything that happens shouldn't be change for changing it may cause major problems that didn't even happen and the course of history may change but that also doesn't mean if you change something good things wont happen but its better if you just don't tried and stop things that where supposed to happen or don't even time travel at all

I think if time travel were possible and you were able to go back in time,you are actually going into a replica of the past or a another dimension,but it'll still be the future. So even though you kill your grandfather you would still be alive and do anything you want. Time can only move forward imo.

I'd like to see what happens if time travel were possible, go back acouple of years and see who is stronger past or present me. 8)

There was one method, where you take two worm holes, keep one on Earth, and shoot the other one into space at near light speed. Have it fly around for a while (lets say 30 Earth years) and have it land.

Zero555 is on a variation of the "Chaos Theory" or "The Butterfly Effect" except you might not screw up the future, interesting concept and pretty logical...
jaken is on a variation of the Futurama episode or thinks you can do anything in the past without any repercussions, so your on the oppisite side of Zero's coin...

i bet klorofolun's idea is taken from relativity...

and for me, i'd like to believe in the parallel world version. you may go to the past, change it, but nothing is going to change to you. just the future of that past changes. and something like that for the future. you may go and take a look, but that doesn't mean the future is sure to come. in fact, if you looked at your own future, it'll almost certainly won't happen.

and yeah, i'm really want time travel to be possible. let us hope and dream...

hmm time travel. if you could lets sya be 45 and go back in time to meet your 7 year old self to tell him all of his future life and how to do it all the right way this would screw up the entire space time continuum or as the creator of this thread said simply create a new time line.If it created a new timeline then when your 45 year old self went back everything would be the same because it was not his timeline that was changed but a different one.so theory of time travel does not exist in the sense we belive i think.

1. Wasn't there already a thread about time travel? Or maybe I went back in time . . .
2. Does this belong in Paranormal? I'm not sure if it does or not, but I'd like to see it there, because Paranormal needs more topics.

What Klorofolun is talking about, isn't that considered purely an impossibility now? I think I heard Stephen Hawking say that wormholes are impossible to travel through. I don't know for sure. I'm not a big science person.

I do know that if I got into a spaceship that moved really fucking fast, and I flew around for a few years, I could come back down, and people who were my own age when I left would be twice as old as me. I can't remember the term for that shit, but I know that's how it is (minus real figures, I mean; I don't know how fast you'd have to be going).

2. I think that this is a serious topic and one that sience has been tossing arround for years. So I understand, since this is not really factual and there are nothing but theories flying arround ,why you might sugguest it for the Paranormal Forum but I was hoping for some intellectual insight and not something like "ZOMG aliens from teh future eated meh brainz!"(a little extreme but it gets the point across) But I can start up some paranormal topics there if you'd like.

I think: you can time-travel. But you cant change something. Or: you dont know that you changed something. Because if you change something and go back its allready done. Before the time amount you traveled back, and if you traveled back in time and you changed something then its allready changed before you travelled. Checked? :wink:

Time travel is a mind fuck. All these paradoxes and shit, plus the thing that NotYou said.(Not that I believe him but it's part of the mind fuck)
If you can't conceive of a mind fuck in time travel then I suggest playing the Jak series.(Fucked me up)

Anyways from what I've observed, I've noticed that people automatically go along with the idea that there's a time plane/whatever the fuck. The idea of time is a human invention and so are dimensions and wormholes and shit. Based on our little ideas we made up a name for it. Although I can't explain in words what my specific opinion of time travel is (but I can understand it inside my mind), I don't believe for a second that we can go to the past.

Here's something fun. To paraphrase George Carlin, "There is no such thing as now. There is the near future or the recent past."(Just a little something to amuse you with)
