I'm kinda tempted by this game, but DW8 is just around the corner.
I doubt I will buy both games, so I'm gonna wait until some more definitive answer to English DW8 before I make my choice.

they've already got a few english voice actors picked out, such as

but I do not feel like shelling out $85 USD for a game I may or may not play for 50+ hours.

It almost sounds like you're saying a game that gives you 50+ hours of gameplay isn't worth spending $85...
Anything over 20 hours should be worth $85+
As for this, if 5empires is anything to go off, this should be pretty good. That being said, I'm not a huge dw person... I may look into it later, when It's cheaper.
Well aware that contradicts my above statement, I'm just really tight with my money, and don't spend money on shit, unless it's cheap, or REALLY REALLY worth it, or it's halo/ forza... That and it'd be $110 here.. which'd be like $120usd

From the very little I've played of 5 Empires, I'd say that 7E's strategy stuff outside of battle is a lot less robust, but the actual combat and (especially) the CaW system is vastly superior. There's an Edit Mode demo that lets you try out the CaW bits, and that demo also has a 5-minute test stage you can try out the CaWs with. As far as JP Voice DLC for DW8, I'd say it's decently likely since base DW7 got that exact DLC for free.

I guess I'm just debating whether the 20 odd dollars extra I pay for import is worth it.
But if DW8 is as good as the videos as I've seen so far, full price for the game isn't bad. ($60 - 65)
Then there's the issue with hd space on my PS3,
anyone know if games installed could be loaded from an external?
