EA ends Online passes.

So if you haven't heard by now, EA is putting an end to the Online Pass program because they want to be better in the consumers eyes. My question is, are they going to automatically allow anyone that bought a used EA game to get online now?

*reads the articles, then nods my head in approval* Bout fucking time they did this. Why sooner then later though?
Though one question baffles me. Does this apply to previous titles such as Bc2, bf3, etc?
EDIT:
Nvm, seems this applies to new titles only.

Am I evil for wanting them to continue along their path so they could run themselves into the ground?

This could just be an attempt at making consumer relations better. I personally believe that EA has enough quality titles to not have to nickle and dime their customers. Maybe they'll realize this in the coming years.

Welp I just found out the possiblity that EA maybe going to use disc locking tech on their discs in place of its online passes.
Why I say this?
Both Sony & Microsoft have registered patents on disc locking technology.
Yes they have both said they will not use this technology, but they also said it is down to 3rd parties as to wether or not to use it.

I purposely went on a boycott and prevented myself from ever buying EA games a few years ago. (The only exception to this was Mass Effect 3)
Not requiring online passes has brought me one step closer to consider buying one of their games.

I guess they're trying to make up with the whole debacle over the new Sim City.
I remember when EA mainly had sports games and stuff like James Bond or the Sims. Now they're pretty much one of the most hated companies in video games, much less on the internet.

Really? They are going to charge for used games?Nope. Even if the game is used, you don't have to pay for an online pass.
