Gamescom 2009
Hi there Fakku greetings from the Gamescom 2009 in Cologne Germany.
I just came back and would like to share some of my Impressions.
The Gamescon is Europe’s biggest Games Convention and can easily challenge the E3 in Los Angeles.
But the best Thing about the Gamescon, it`s open to the general Public.
Featuring nearly 400 exhibitors, everyone should find something he`s interested in. Just to name some of them: Activision, EA, Nintendo, Sony….
Full List with featured Games
So my Day started one hour before the Opening in front of the Convention Halle’s. Then exactly a 10 o`clock the Doors opened and I found myself in something that reminded me of the good old Zerling rush. 100`s of people running mindlessly at the same time to hopefully get to their favorite Game-stand before the others. I took my time and finally arrived at Hall 6 featuring Blizzard, EA and Sony which I decided to be my first Stop that Day.
So let`s start with the interesting Part: Game play^^
STARCRAFT II

After seeing the Logo me and Q (Come on pal say hi to Fakku) simply had to try it. It only took me 5 Minutes of waiting time (which was pretty much a record that Day) before I and Q could play 25 min of Star Craft II.
I decided to created a Skirmish Game choosing the Terran`s as Player Race. Soon after Game Start I felt at home. There was your Command Center, your Workers and the well known Building Menu. However, all Units and Buildings got a whole new Graphic Update.
After a pretty slow start (It has been far too long till I played Star Craft) and getting my Ass kicked by the KI (O hell did I suck....), I switched over to the Campaign Modus. That’s the Point when I started to say WOAH.
The Render Videos are great. The Music, the Storyline...(wipes the Drool from his Key-Board).
Unfortunately it was over far too soon, leaving the feeling in me, of only having started to play.
I hope you read so far and I got your Interest. I will be writing more tomorrow, so stay tuned.
PS: By the Way KHANE is alive and i`ve got the Feeling, that Nod is trying to infiltrate EA Games ^^

PART II:
Dofus 2.0
http://www.dofus.com/de
Dofus is one of those many MMORPGs on the market, actually before i played 2.0 i didn`t even heard of it before.
Well i can`t say anything about the actual Version but 2.0 looks nice.
http://www.dofus.com/de/mmorpg/dofus2.0?utm_source=DOFUS%2528Main%2BCarousel%2529&utm_medium=Image%2BAnkama%2BCarousel%2528550x260%2529&utm_content=DOFUS%2B2.0%2BDE%2B%2528154%2529&utm_campaign=DOFUS%2B2.0%2BDE
The Characters have a Anime/Comic based look.
The fighting System is rather interesting. While you explore the different Maps in Real Time, your Fights ar Round based.
Star Wars The Old Republic

Now this upcoming MMORPG really got my Attention.
They had an 45 Minutes Developer Walkthrough on Gamescom, featuring the Sith, Bountyhunter and Smuggler Classe.
You can watch it yourself here:

Yeah, the 45 minute walkthrough for SW: TOR was pretty good. I'm not really a fan of MMOs but I'm a huge fan of the KOTORs and Star Wars so I'll probably end up getting this.
The fully voiced aspect of the game really makes things interesting. Especially for that part where the Sith and the bounty hunter are conversing with the Captain of the ship and his subordinates.

It`s also nice that you have different answering choices during your Conversations.
Depending on what Choice you made, the Storyline changes. Like killing the Captain or not.
Im a little bit disappointed over the german Voice of the Captain compared with the english one.
This Game really has Potential, hope i get access to the BETA ^^
