Global Simulations - War, Economy, Politics.

My favorite type of game. Among the genre the most notable one in my books is Shadow President (possibly the most accurate and complex game to date) however; it's become somewhat ancient and I've moved on since then to the Superpower series. I highly recommend Superpower 2, The graphics are still quite nice for a game made in 2004, and it has a large bit of strategy to managing your economy and political influence. The engine for the military part of the game is fascinating, taking every vehicle, soldier, aircraft and naval unit into account and giving them random variables based on their design and specialties. Then they get pitted against another army. Nuclear simulation is 100% accurate. And by that I mean you fire a nuke and unless you control a fair portion of the globe and countries with nukes, you can expect a holocaust.

I've been wondering if there are any other fans of this genre on Fakku. If so, what games would you recommend or what games have you played?
