Konami: Knockin on deaths door

My first konami game was probably metal gear solid, I'm not sure. I didn't think too much about game companies back then, but whenever I heard the name "Konami", it always made me think of MGS. I don't know what they're thinking recently by announcing they're no longer making AAA titles. Maybe its some sick joke and they're pulling a coca cola stunt where they'll dish out a bunch of shitty mobile games. Then do a 1080, and release a bunch of solid games for the consoles again. Ah, who am I kidding, this is the same company that treated a genius like Kojima like garbage.
Its old news I know, I just wanted to vent out my frustrations on the matter.

If it is just a publicity stunt, i'm pretty sure they are going to regret it. many people have already decided they will no longer buy konami games unless they are used from ebay or something, Including any AAA games they may possibly release in the future. they have already dug their own grave. I know how you feel though, i always thought of silent hill or castlevania when i heard konami. really sucks that they decided to completely fuck with their fanbase.

This is no publicity stunt. They're getting out of the vidya market and they're trying to make as much money as they can on their way out. Hence the FoB insurance in MGS5 and why PC got a shit version of PES 2016. They're done, and we have no reason not to be glad.

The only holdout I would have is that because Konami will not go bankrupt in the foreseeable future, and thus will never for any reason release any of their IPs, the chance of there ever again being a real installment of MGS or ZoE or Suikoden or Silent Hill or any Konami IP is incredibly remote. They did chase away all the talent behind those series so spiritual successors will inevitably crop up but it's a little sad that all of their properties will spend decades being abused as fucking pachinko/pachi-slot machines before there's even any chance of them being actual games again.
