Save Data Loss

Probably one of the worst feelings for a gamer, but have any of you ever lost your save game data? If so, what game, how much hours instantly wasted, and were you upset?

I recall playing Metroid Prime 2 shortly after its release. I tried to get as close to 100% as possible, since I like to be a completionist for my first playthrough. After I got the Light Suit near the end of the game, I needed to turn of the game, to get some rest. Turn it back on the next day, save data was completely gone. Don't have any idea of what caused it. Literally did not want to touch the game, and didn't until long after I beat Metroid Prime 3. Almost six years later.

Sooooooo many times. The biggest deals were when my GameCube memory card was formatted (I didn't know what it meant because I was still just a kid, so I agreed to it) and I lost my 119 emblem Sonic Heroes playthrough, and the time my brother sold his PlayStation 3 to someone else before telling me. I had only a few enemies left to brutally murder in order to platinum Hyperdimension Neptunia, and only had to complete the Conquest ending to get MK-2's plat. I recovered my account, but I haven't touched either of those games since.

Losing data just prior to achieving platinum in a game would instantly kill any desire to ever go back to it for me. I'd probably throw something into a wall.

I almost beat Final Fantasy IX. Then I accidentally overwrote the data.

Playing the Persona 3/4 crossover game killed me let alone any persona game. I would clear a few floors and so on and then run into enemies more powerful than i thought and lose all that progress....Should push you to save more lol.

I was playing Fable 2 and made huge progress in that game. Then one day, my game crashed. Every time I would load that save file, my character would just be standing still unable to move. No matter what you press, he wont budge. I had to overwrite my save file to play the game...

Is it the PS1 version of Wild Arms from PSN, or is there a Vita port? Cause I've been needing to play that.

My savedata and backup save for one of the Ratchet&Clank Future: Tools of Destruction got corrupted about halfway though the game. I started keeping three saves on the PS3 after that.

Lost my Terraria worlds thrice - so I never play it solo anymore.

About 270 hours into Kamidori. It was an NG+.

Touhoumon Another World: Roughly 1 month's worth of playtime, but I played on 8x speed.

If it counts...I was close to reaching Legendary status on Star Wars Battlefront II for all Award Weapons at one point.

Several other games that I can't recall have also had their data gone amiss.

Nice! I need to get that soon. Hopefully Einhander hits PSN someday.

Man, you endured some pain. I don't have a destructive personality, but I would've broke something out of pure rage along the way.
