The art of racing

Recently I was yearning to have a racing game for my PS3 since I got the console in December, and I have begun collecting the best video games once more. Since my PS2 collection consisted of the need for speed series(nfsu1, nfsu2, nfsmw, and nfs carbon) and I thought that Need For Speed Underground 2 and Most Wanted were the best racing games I've ever played(in terms of customization and racing), I wanted one for my PS3 collection.
Later, I got NFS Undercover, but it doesn't really quench my racing need. It's fake and the style in that game just doesn't work for me.(If you played it, you should know how fake the turning, crashing, and other racing components of the game are.)
So, now I'm here with a request for a decent fucking racing game that lets me customize my cars, tune their performance(I find enjoyment doing that even though I don't know the result of most of my tuning), and have some realistic driving.

no gt3 & 4?
i prefer gt series over nfs because of the depth of the tuning u can do onto the car.
gt5's coming up soon so u might wanna pick that up too? :P
and gran turismo's gamplay has always been more realistic than nfs series. at least trust me on that.

Go and send some angry e-mails asking for a port of Forza 2. Other than that, would probably agree, although have never played it on the PS3...certainly GT was the only PS/PS2 racer I ever truly loved.

that felt really good. now i need to start finding my memory card.
