The more you talk the more I think you never actually read the Qur'an at all.

Okay, first of all, I'll be talking mainly about islam because that's the religion I was raised in, the one I had to study extensively etc etc. However I believe it isn't hard to find parallels with Jews, Christians etc if you want to do the research. Buddhism, idk. That's more like a philosophy than a religion to me.

Al-Baqarah; 2:39: And those who disbelieve and deny Our signs - those will be companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally."

Al-Baqarah; 2:119: ... bringer of glad tidings (for those who believe in what you brought, that they will enter Paradise) and a warner (for those who disbelieve in what you brought, they will enter the Hell-fire). And you will not be asked about the dwellers of the blazing Fire. ...

Ali Imran; 3:4: Before, as guidance for the people. And He revealed the Qur'an. Indeed, those who disbelieve in the verses of Allah will have a severe punishment, and Allah is exalted in Might, the Owner of Retribution.

Ali Imran; 3:10: Indeed, those who disbelieve - never will their wealth or their children avail them against Allah at all. And it is they who are fuel for the Fire.

Okay, I'm sure even you know what the Fire is in the islamic belief. The place where we gather and roast the hell out of the scums looking like humans. Are you really suggesting not to hate those kinds of things? For anyone taking the Qur'an seriously, that would be equivalent to telling him to get along with child rapists.

Al-Baqarah; 2:39: ... them - although before they used to pray for victory against those who disbelieved - but [then] when there came to them that which they recognized, they disbelieved in it; so the curse of Allah will be upon the disbelievers.

Al-Baqarah; 2:161: Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers - upon them will be the curse of Allah and of the angels and the people, all together,

Ooh, you want to get along with the bunch your god curse explicitly in the holy book.

Al-Baqarah; 2:98: Whoever is an enemy to Allah and His angels and His messengers and Gabriel and Michael - then indeed, Allah is an enemy to the disbelievers.

"Wrongdoers". Yeah, I don't see anyone taking Qur'an seriously would spend any time with non-muslims other than being against them.

Ali Imran; 3:10: Say to those who disbelieve, "You will be overcome and gathered together to Hell, and wretched is the resting place."

Man, a direct order to you from your god. Y U NO DO IT.

Ali Imran; 3:100: O you who believe! If you obey a group of those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians), they would (indeed) render you disbelievers after you have believed!

See, you even got a warning from your god. Yet you proposed to get along with those bunch? ...lol.

Oh hey, at least you'll be purified eventually. It doesn't sound very nice for us though.

Pfft. And that's a part from the crapton of a simple search of "disbelievers" in Qur'an returned me. Back to my original point, either you don't even know your religion or you don't take it seriously enough. Think about it.

Al-Baqarah; 2:85: ... So do you believe in part of the Scripture and disbelieve in part? Then what is the recompense for those who do that among you except disgrace in worldly life; and on the Day of Resurrection they will be sent back to the severest of punishment. And Allah is not unaware of what you do.

Point: YOU may agree, but the religion itself doesn't. That you even proposed some kind of unity between people of different religions already shows that you don't take your religion seriously enough.

In other words, you place your humanity higher than religion. But any religion requires itself to be the highest and you disobey that. Which brings me to my question: why have a religion at all when you already have a criteria to rank things?

I live in a religious community. The kind that do take the belief very seriously. I was such a person before. So I know that seriously religious people do think anyone that doesn't belief are crackpots.

Lol. If you really think different religions can unite, it has to mean that you don't take your religion seriously so you might as well have none.

No religion entertains the possibility of other religions being right. In other words, it has to assume that it is the only true one, others are completely false, crackpots, whatever it is you wanna label them. And who believes in queer wrong fictitious crap has to be delusional or stupid. Why would you want to unite with the people that you deem stupid?

Then again, I'm an atheist so I definitely have no problem with fellow atheists or people that take their religions so lightly that I can't really tell how they're different from atheists.

The weather is nice. Many are helpful. The place I live in, everyone is so brilliant. Even idle chats are usually meaningful. There are no stupid laws/restrictions. The view is great. Food delicious. Drinks, oh, let's not discuss that. It's France~
