I'd kill the guy. Not intentionally killing him, but exerting as much force as I can possibly muster to remove my daughter from the harm that is him right away and removing any possibilities of him getting close to my daughter. If it happens that while doing so I accidentally kill him, then so be it. If I'm certain that my objectives are reached and he's dying, then I'll try to tend to the continuity of his life. I'm aware that my actions might traumatize my daughter, but the situation doesn't allow for holding back. I'll think about how to make her understand my reasons later.

Legality =/= morality. If law decides to be cold and throw me into prison for years afterwards or worse so be it, I'll just believe in my beloved to sort things out. If the legal system understands why I did it then nice, I'll continue to live my life with the slight guilt of having taken a life in front of my child. Regardless of which, I did the thing that felt right to me.

Don't bother about your chances. Some things just need to be done and achieved.

Mhm.

Well, true, I'm very grateful of that. But on the larger scale of things, it's just another bit of happiness, you can't deny that. People live and people die. Some are happy, some suffer. It's really an indifferent world, just because I happen to be blessed with happiness doesn't mean I have any right to think I'm someone special.
