OP, try checking websites like animenewsnetwork or myanimelist for reviews and must-sees. That is as much as I can help you. I am new to seeing non-hentai anime which isn't spammed by the media (such as Pokemon, Naruto, etc) and happily discovered Paprika and Trigun by accidents.MAL reviews are pretty terrible, go to the synopsis pages and read them yourself and then make a judgement.
