You seem to be missing the point.
Let's see, your point being that you hate Manga sites that have a company in the background that is making money for doing nothing to run the site.... I just described almost every single manga site except for scanlators personal sites.

All three parties (administrative staff, scanlation groups, uploaders) do this for
free. NOEZ has no hand in any of this, except for the financial and legal aspects. They don't do any of the scanlating, they don't do any of the site moderating, and they don't do any of the uploading -- that's how they're able to legally pocket the profits.
Their legal disclaimers have been worded in such a way that these parent companies have their asses covered from having to pay any damages. Take a look at any aggregate site's terms of use or other various legal disclaimers. The liability of copyright infringements clearly fall on the uploaders and scanlation groups.
Any smart company would want a group of employees that do there work for free. With an easy way to place the blame somewhere other than on themselves when something goes wrong with their product.

The manga series artists and authors should be the ones making money -- not these companies that have been able to capitalize on the greediness of fans.
I will agree it is the authors that should be making the money. However, people find ways to take advantage of other people's work and use it for there own gain. always have, alwayas will.

And yet, when publishing companies step in and try to protect the rights of the artists they represent, fans cry foul.
I both agree and don't agree with this comment. I agree in the fact that any company that is currently publishing a manga in the U.S. has the right to ask for those manga to not be on a site.(Ex. is what Yen Press has asked Onemanga to do with soul eater.) However I disaggree in the fact that everyone (well at least me) is crying foul over the fact that publishing companies are trying to protect there merchandise. I believe most are are crying foul cause the publishers are saying that not just the ones they are publishing, but all series are not allowed on the sites. including one that are not Licensed here in the U.S.
List of series I read that are not Licensed in the U. S. but being removed from sites cause of publishers.
