Gunma VS Yamatogawa: Who does it better?
So who's doujin's pound for pound artist?

They rank 1 and 2 among my favorite doujin artists: Gunma Kisaragi of the Love Selection fame and Yamatogawa of the Tayu Tayu fame. Both art styles are very distinct from the another, but both are exceptionally well done. Just wondering who you guys fancy more.

Of the two available, yamatogama for me...
I really enjoy Yamato's work, and while I used to like Gunma, as of late his art just isn't to my liking as much anymore.

I prefer Yamatogawa, artwork-wise. Better expressions and men. Gunma's art looks great, but the facial expressions of his characters are too similar. His men are worse. Whereas his women tend to look alike except for the hair, his men are completely indistinct. I also prefer Yamato's bodies for his women -- slimmer than would normally be humanly possible. Gunma's proportions are more realistic (if extremely over-endowed), but I find that less exciting.
Story-wise, though, I prefer Gunma. I'm not fond of harem or super-studs nailing 5 women at the same time stories unless it also happens to be a tentacle story (then at least I can suspend the disbelief of a man simultaneously screwing 5 women). I rolled my eyes at the last chapter of Tayu Tayu.
Overall, as creators of manga, I prefer Gunma. While I find his artwork to be less exciting than Yamato's, at least it doesn't annoy me.

i find gunma too simplistic while tamatogawa too vivid.
If only there was one more guy that went inbetween these two distinct art styles.

Wow, hell of an analysis there. My preference for Gunma was just based on pure instinct. I find his work more arousing, simple as that. But I must admit, I admire the detail of Yamatogawa's work: the way he draws genitals and facial expressions.
