I think it might be worth it, though it strongly smacks of War of the Worlds to me for some reason.

Anyway, I'll probably see it, despite my dislike for Keanu Reeves.
The original is a sci-fi classic. I'm hoping this remake wont disapoint.

Woo just watched it last night. Was pretty good, not impressive but I wouldn't dissuade anyone who has planning to watch the movie.

Saw it, it wasn't anything special, and it lacked hentai.

My thoughts exactly, it definitely wasn't epic and in the beginning when Kaune Reeves had a beard I lol'd.

The original is seen as an absolute classic, even outside of the sci-fi genre. The recent remake has a ridiculously low rating, something like 39% on Rotten Tomatoes. My parents said it's "OK but not very good", bearing in mind they like any old shit.

Er, also, why do people keep calling Keanu Reeves, Kaune Reeves? This is more than just a typo, kind of like how often internet people misspell "tongue" as "tounge".

I liked it fairly well despite the fact that the row of people sitting behind myself and my roommate were extensively annoying. There were 5 of them all weighing about 400 plus pounds one of which had to use an oxygen tank due to their fatness. They kept talking about how nice the theater was and they had something retarded to say about each preview. Then when the movie started one of them kept reading off the names of the actors as they appeared on screen by saying 'Oh Kathy Bates is in this....' 'Oh Keanu Reeves is in this....' Despite their best efforts I thought the movie was fine but that was obviously the Bush regime in office in the movie considering how the government/military reacted to the peaceful unless provoked aliens.

Can someone explain to me how Keanu Reeves keeps getting work

A friend of mine went to see it with some of his other friends, and apparently it sucked (compared to the old movie). So they decided to go Mystery Science Theater 3000 on it. :P

With today's technology, they could have made him able to do any number of things.

So, why did they turn him into a big cloud when they could have turned him into a giant super destruco-bot?

Or they could have at least kept the fucking laser. I mean, cutting down an entire city with a single laser beam would be awesome if done right.

Yeah having a huge robot destroying the city would have been so much better than the dust. It just looked cool, but could have been so much cooler.

The cloud of bugs seem more efficient with what the aliens were trying to do though. It seems like they would do damage quickly and without hurting the planet anymore.
