Gran Torino

is anyone else besides me looking forward to seeing that moive? i have seen trailers for it, and heard from a friend who has seen it that it is a good movie. it looks like an interesting movie, and im thnking of seeing it. anyone else got any opinions about it?

a little bit of info (below) about the movie. judging from what i have heard about the movie, this is a pretty big spoiler. so if you intend to see it, know this is a spoiler on clint eastwood's character.

The commercials don't say anything about racist at all. Instead, they show Eastwood as a man living in a neighborhood that is tormented by a street gang. When a Korean (I think) neighbor tries to steal Eastwood's car, the boy shouts, "Don't shoot me! They made me do it!" The kid was pushed into trying to steal the car by the gang. It appears that Eastwood's character befriends the boy and decides to take care of the street gang himself. As he puts it, he's an old man who doesn't have anything else to do with his life, implying that Eastwood will kill the gang members (or put himself in danger to get rid of them) so that the neighborhood will be safe.

It looks like a really good movie, and I'm surprised, but I actually would like to see it. I might rent it on DVD when it comes out. I'm not a big theater person.

The film got good reviews, I wouldn't mind checking it out. Not a big Clint Eastwood fan but he does have a few gems. I gotta say, the scene where Eastwood looks like he's about to pull out a gun from his jacket and it turns out to be just his hand, that was pretty cool. And I think the neighbors are Hmong in the film.

With all the things I've been hearing about this movie, I'm going to go see it later today. I like Clint Eastwood's work, but I'm just a casual fan.

no. theres a lot more to it then that. shaggy jebus was a little right when he was talking about the asian neighbors, who are hmong. the basic plot is he is a korean war veteran, who grudgingly decides to help his hmong neighbors with local gang bangers. thats not the WHOLE premise, but i dont want to ruin it. but yeah thats what it is about.

I just saw this movie and it was awesome. Clint Eastwood was hilarious. He makes it hard for me to wait to be an irritable old man.

It was a great funny, dramatic movie and Eastwood was a total badass. The ending though

One of my favorite movies actually. It has a great story and it shows that Clint Eastwood is still a bad ass.
