ok these are both great games. old, but great. in the first one you play as Caim who hates dragon because they killed his parents. but due to the will to live, he makes a pact with the red dragon Angelus, who hates humans. In the second one you play as Nowe who was raised by the blue dragon Legna.

i prefer the first game myself. it has the transforming of the weapons and longer chains. it also has more weapons, a better chapter selections, better magics, and better weapon specials. oh and caim is badass.

the second one is cool in its own way. i like the fact you can actively switch partners back and forth.

thoughts?

I've only played the second one in the series, but I did enjoy the combat, being up against those giant masses of people and being able to call your dragon down to do the dirty work. I didn't enjoy the fact that some of those weapons you get take a loooong time to build up into something more useful, but otherwise it was alot of fun. If I ever find the first one somewhere, I'd love to play it.

yea the first one was way better. but it's such a good game that no one wants to put it up for sale.
in the second one the chains are only like 5 hits. in the first one every weapon had a 16 chain hit.

The first one is one of my favorite games of all time. The second one was fun too but not as good...and not as messed up, which spoils some of the fun.

I played the first one when it came out for about 2 hours and quit because it was way to fucking repetitive. I wanted to finish it though because apparently the story is awesome. Is there any site where I can watch every cutscene from the game?

agreed, way too fucking repetitive. I did finish it though because I wanted to see how it turned out. The ending was actually a challenge so that made it better.

I agree with TDSA these were both great games and spent many hours playing. The first was challenging in were you need to collect all the weapons to see the final ending(a feat i have yet to accomplish). The second one was a tad easier and alittle of a let down but still an ok game. Recommend to peeps out there.

I wish I had played the first two episodes but I did play NieR though and I absolutely loved the atmosphere. So I'll be taking a closer look on this one.

I've never played any Drakengard games so maybe I'll give the new one a try if it gets localized.

I actually just learned about that last night.

I'll admit the gameplay can be repetitive as fuck, and the last boss on number 2 pissed me off. But The story was a great and the gameplay to me was fun.

I dunno how they are treating the story in this one, but I'd love to see some appearances from characters from number 2.

Pretty sure I just came a little.

I loved the first game. Especially the stage where there was an all-out-war, and them babies were creepy. 2nd game was good too.

Looks good, and this apparently is a prequel to the first two games, which is interesting.

Hope if it gets localized, it also comes on the PS4

Looks like it will be coming exclusively on the PS3 to the west in 2014.
