Family guy season 7 episode 7

I'll be the first (and possibly only) person to say it - I hate Family Guy. I used to love it, but in recent years, I have grown to hate it with a burning passion.
Maybe my tastes have matured (or grown stale), but Family Guy doesn't make me burst out laughing anymore. There will be a few laughs, but they're always chuckles, if anything, and there are never more than five of them throughout an entire episode.
But the main problem I had with this episode was that it wasted time. Instead of getting in as many jokes as possible, the show took the easy way out and stretched singular jokes to absurd lengths. The Peter vs. Christian Bale scene in particular ate up valuable time for a joke that everyone who uses the internet is sick and tired of. We've had the Christian Bale freakout shoved down our throats in every way imaginable, and now even Family Guy makes a joke about it? Not only that, they play the entire rant, and instead of making it mildly interesting by actually animating the rant, they just showed a tape playing the entire time.
Plus, the references to their own jokes are lame and show that the writing staff doesn't even take the show seriously anymore. When you have a joke in an episode and then reference it ten episodes later, that can be funny. When you reference it a second time in another episode, that's pushing it. But when you reference it a third time in an episode that came out long after the original joke, that's being lazy.

I feel the same way. I remember Family Guy back when it was funny to me, in 8th grade. Now I go back to the episodes and maybe get a few laughs, but not as many as I used to. I think the first Chicken Fight was probably the most epic animated thing that was on TV at the time, but it's long dead by now.
So, Family Guy is to television what Sonic is to video games.

I thought this episode was fuckin hilarious. I lol'd more times then I have in a long time watching a family guy episode. I was a little bit surprised that Bonny finally had that baby. I sort of saw that Stewy was goning to fall in lover with it but I didn't see that fuckin awesome music video he made. I lol'd hard while that was playing. All in all it was excellent. I still think Futurama is better.

Hell yeah Futurama is better! Last movie coming out soon!
I wasn't too impressed with that episode. That Cristian Bale and Music Video were too long and weren't funny at all. I had some good chuckles and a couple of laughs though. I too was surprised that Bonnie had her baby. I thought that it was going to continue to be a Family Guy thing with her being pregnant all the time.
I rarely watch Family Guy on TV anymore. I'm just getting tired of some of the repetitiveness as well as the mediocrity of the episodes. They could be better, but their just kind of meh. I'm especially getting tired of Stewie. He was never my favorite character, but recently, he's just been getting annoying and boring.
I need to catch up on a lot of the episodes I've missed, so I can't judge the content of recent ones.

I miss Stewie being a crazy son of a bitch who wanted to kill Lois and take over the world. Him being a horrible gay stereotype isn't funny or original. :( Plus, episodes either feature him a ton of very little. In fact, that's how it is with most characters. Unlike in the past, if a character isn't the focus (or one of the focuses) of the episode, he/she never pops up. This includes family members. What lines did Chris or Meg have in this episode, for example? I understand that it's hard to put every character in an episode, but I'm just tired of either not seeing Stewie at all or having him be in at least half of the episode.
All those Stewie & Brian episodes left a very bitter taste in my mouth, I suppose.

I haven't seen the latest seasons (other than some episode here and there) so i can't really voice my opinion about it, but some of my m8's also seems to think it's gone more stale.
I'll have to catch up to see what all the fuzz is about.

I think Loretta got him in the divorce. I'm kind of surprised that Loretta didn't get the house, but since she was the one who cheated on him, I suppose that makes sense.
God, I wonder when The Cleveland Show is going to start airing. I'm not looking forward to it, but I wish it would hurry up and start already so it can get canceled (hopefully).
