Yakuza 3

Its the japanesse version of GTA, just 10x better. Chances are that it comes to America...or anywhere outside Japan are....freaking low. Knowing how poorly the sells are, just looking at Valkyria Chronicles, its probably going to be the same. YET! i pray, that one day, it does come to north america, with JUST translated text. FUCK VOICE ACTING! The game became the best selling game in Japan with 372,000 unit sold on its debut week.
Anyway, hopefully there's some people who also pray for it to come with english :P

3? Really? That's awesome! I finished 2 a couple of months ago, that was some of the most fun I've had with a brawler in a while, the combat in this game kicks ass. So many random items to use as weapons, plus the martial arts moves are sweet.

Yakuza 3? I only has Yakuza 1 and 2. And I haven't finished both of it. But I'm in last chapter though.
If the English one is out, I'll buy it for sure.

Well it's officially not coming out in the west now. This would have been one games that would have tempted me to buy a PS3, when combined with other things that aren't quite enough to make me want to buy one. To try to be optimistic about it, maybe this will be something to look forward to playing if I keep at my Japanese studies (but by the time I'm good enough, Yakuza 6 will probably be out...)

Cool, I'm glad the information I heard before turned out to be wrong. Looks like I'm definitely going to get a PS3 now; most of the non-Wii, current gen games I want are on both the PS3 and 360, but now with the next Team Ico game and Yakuza 3, the PS3 has two absolute must play games for me.

Yeah, I was looking to pre-order this when I heard it was getting a US release.

Yeah I saw that on my daily visit to kotaku.I'm still on the edge about his game. I mean the first game was okay and showed potential. Guess I better get looking it up since it's coming Westward.

Yeah I've checked it out and still saw some of the same shortcomings I saw in the first game so I moved on to another game I had interest in. Guess I'll take another look at it.

I guess I will necromance this thread, since the semi-recent reveal of a March 9th release date. Too bad it is releasing on the same day as Final Fantasy XIII. Smart move on Sega's part, release a game with extremely heavy competition that already has doubts about the sales.

All Yakuza needs is a bit of good advertising and they'll be fine. There is no question that FF will outsell it, even if we all know that the latest installation of this beaten-to-death franchise is one of the worst reviewed titles I have ever seen. Having to watch something sell well simply because of its name, not because of its content, really kinda pisses me off.

Shenmue is needed more... /RevivalSega just stated that they will trade exclusivity for funds to make a new Shenmue.
Sega just has a straight up death wish for this series, I am trying to get everyone I know to purchase a copy so there is a slightly better chance that Yakuza 4, and Kenzan! are released stateside.

Just tried the playable demo of this, and it seems to play almost exactly like its predecessor. Well, maybe a bit more difficult. Beating that guy with the sword in the club was quite a task, at least until I figured out they gave you weapons to start with. ...Was throwing barstools at him, he seemed unimpressed. Either way, should be fun.
