Don't they usually all sound familiar? No, but I mean really familiar. Although I can't quite place it. First guess was Alastor, but I dunno... :?

As long as there are no slowdowns, then this will become a great game for sure.Definitely, the vicious slowdown was the only thing keeping Odin Sphere from being a perfect 10/10. If there IS a lot of slowdown, now years later, they're gonna have a lot of pissed off fans.

Got some nice info on the game. My eyes are now on it. This game looks seriously old school side scrolling fighting game, with a bit of walk back , awesome combo system. Going to give a try once its out this summer.

So apparently XSEED Games dropped Muramasa from publishing, and it was picked up by Ignition Entertainment. To be honest, a sense of dread has kind of welled up inside me. Has anyone played a game by Ignition Entertainment? I just want to prepare myself beforehand.

They published Metal Slug, Samurai Shodown, and King of Fighters series for Europe.
Budget titles for DS and PSP.
Looks like they recently expanded in 2007 for Japan and US market for "next-gen" games.

I find the tattoo version very attracting. I really hope Ignition Entertainment doesn't screw up the localization. Especially after seeing the mess they did with Lux-Pain.

Yeah, it's a great game. It can feel like a button-masher at times but if you do just madly spam attacks you'll end up dead pretty quickly. On hard mode it's not that much of a challenge for the first hour or so, I'd usually get the "Took no damage whatsoever" bonus (however they phrase it) but then some quite tricky battles come up. I did the first boss without any difficulty but the second boss kicked the shit out of me.
It's a really polished game, I love the graphics - I'd often just stop to admire then. The localisation is good, there's not much that's said really but what is said fits in well - at least I haven't thought that anything sounds stupid so far. The dialogue is quite minimal and doesn't seem to use slang or anything. It kind of reminds me of how people spoke in Okami. You unlock new swords through an immense skill tree, sort of comparable to the sphere grid in FFX. The swords will have attack strengths, special moves and maybe added properties (like a chance to set the enemies on fire).
There's quite a few pics of it over at Danbooru now. Look out of the fox woman; in the game they put a lot of effort into animating certain parts of her body even in her little sprite form.

I can breathe a sigh of relief. Even if Muramasa is a metroidvania with just as little dialogue, I would have been pissed if it had gotten the Ar Tonelico 2 treatment.
