Cartoon Network Sucks Now

It's Saturday night, and what's on Cartoon Network? The same shit that's been on CN Saturday nights for the past few months - Total Drama Island and 6teen.

Toonami turned to shit, and it finally got canned a while back. I thought that was okay because the block was shitty. "They'll just show Naruto and other alright stuff and not call it Toonami," I said to myself. But they didn't. For about a month after Toonami's death, they showed "action movies," which were just repeats of shit they'd already showed a dozen times. Then, they stopped that, and started showing all this teen shit. And unfortunately, I don't think they'll stop showing that shit any time soon.

CN's Saturday nights haven't been good in a while, but the stuff wasn't completely terrible, so I could always tune in if nothing else was on or I just wanted something in the background. Now, I can't do that. For five hours (at least), there is nothing good on CN at all. When I think of all the things they could be showing . . .

Which leads to what I think is the biggest problem with Cartoon Network right now - instead of trying to appeal to viewers with funny or action-packed cartoons/anime, the channel is trying to appeal with more "teen-oriented" cartoons that aren't all that funny. Has anybody ever watched an episode of 6teen? It's shit. It is a big pile of shit. And Total Drama Island is unbearable, too. Regardless of its quality (I say it's always been shit, but that doesn't matter), it has been overplayed so fucking much that I'm starting to wonder if the people in charge of CN have gone senile. That shit has aired more repeats than DBZ. As for the Clone Wars series, it's completely pointless (who the fuck cares about Anakin?), and even though the season has ended, it's still being shown and getting advertised. Another series that's going to get beaten into the ground.

The best shows on the channel right now (with new episodes) are Pokemon and Transformers, and they rarely get shown. Chowder and Flapjack are great, but it's the same episodes over and over. Classic series are completely gone, replaced with shit like "What's New, Scooby Doo?" Here's a tip, CN: It didn't do well on the WB, and it's really bad; there is no reason to show this.

The only thing the channel has now is Adult Swim, and that's getting old, too. And they keep giving it more time. Eventually, either Cartoon Network is going to be completely replaced by Adult Swim or AS will get its own channel, and CN will fill even more hours with 6teen and Total Drama Island. Either way, fans of the good old Cartoon Network are screwed.

The moment I saw a commercial for 6teen I thought it was complete garbage. I make fun of my friend every time he watches it when apparently "nothing better" is on. I could find something better to watch in 10 seconds.

As for the entire CN being fucked, well, yea I hardly watch shit there anymore and I only watch Pokemon or Batman for the fuck of it. I rarely tune in during the weekdays though because saturday is the only time where they show some anime shit. I watch bleach, then I go to sleep. I also watch family guy during the weekdays but it just happened to be on CN.(or is it AS after 11 on weekdays?)

They're just appealing to the morons and apparently since the shows aren't canceled the bait has been long taken.

Shit, they have been moar teen-oriented over the past few years, which is a shame. I remember when we finally got it in B.R. sometime in 1996. All I'd watch it for was Toonami in its glory days (DBZ, Gundam Wing, Sailor Moon, Big O, Robotech?, etc.). CN (besides Pokemon) was the reason for making me into the anime otaku I am today. Then, when [as] came on, I shat bricks of joy (literally ;)).

But now, they've been shatting massive bricks of fail. They ran Toonami into the ground, [as] now has moar re-runs of some good & mostly crap shows, and anime is basically CN's biatch-taken-for-a-walk. I mean, it really pissed me off when [as] reluctantly promo'd Code Geass for a few seconds during a fukken bump, and failed to promote Moribito at all. And now, all the anime is mostly repeats (w/ Bleach filling) at the tail end of Saturday/early Sunday. It's time they changed for the better or just GTFO because frankly...

I have had the misfortune of seeing the end of Toonami myself, and am still quite sad and angry at the loss of the once great block. I have realized how this Channel has deteriorated to the point of not even being considered garbage anymore.

I am disgusted at the executives who are now running Cartoon Network, as their decisions have basically run the entire channel into the ground. They have canceled the greatest shows they had and replaced them with pure and honest excrement. Examples include Johnny Bravo, cancelled; Samurai Jack, cancelled; and especially Megas XLR, cancelled.

I honestly don't know where that station is headed now...

I'll name all the great shows Cartoon Network used to air;

Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, I Am Weasel, The Powerpuff Girls, Mike Lu & Og, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Sheep in the Big City, Grim and Evil and Samurai Jack.

Yup, I can't believe that the same network that used to create and broadcast all those classics has really gone to hell. Well, sat least its death was a lot slower than Nickelodeons. Besides Spongebob, that channel has nothing these days.

Money and ratings does that to channels. Then there those who don't care about the changes who don't complain loud enough. Either way the money speaks louder.

They canceled Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends recently, and you know how they did it? They took the show off the air without telling anybody, and a few weeks later, they had a marathon of the series (on a fucking Sunday, for Christ's sake) and aired the last five episodes. Instead of letting the series end in a somewhat dignified way, they put it on for one day and showed the episodes they hadn't shown when they pulled it off the air.

Hooray, Cartoon network is nearly through, and its viewers are not happy. Soon, cartoon network will die forever.

Cartoon Network has been lame for some time now.
I think the last awesome thing I saw was the Powerpuff Girls special, and that was a while back.

Cn is pissing me off cause they show nothing but total and full garbage i'm sorry the damn shows are made for the parents more than the kids and teens that actully watch the channel. i mean they came out with the damn 6teen thing so the parents would be happy to know that there kids are learning not to be like the kids in the damn show and you know what the kids are going to be just like those brainless idiotic example of teenagers.

AS is pissing me off cause they used to show kickass anime all the time. anime such as cowboy bebop, inuyasha, and GITS:SAC like everynight, now the only good thing you can count on to be there that is good is family guy, and i'm pissed that they got rid of futrama yeah it was all reruns but that shit could make ya laugh not matter how many times ya saw it. and they are showing the stupidest shit i have ever fucking seen. i mean freaking hell what the hell is with freaking tim and eric, i mean shit those guys have got to be on freaking drugs 24/7 and the only people who could find that shit funny is people who are on more drugs then them. i mean hell i can barley stand squidbillies though don't get me wrong at least that makes me laugh, i freaking watch tim and eric i feel stupider and stupider the longer i watch. i have to say these days i freaking don't watch the channel at all except on saturday nights when they play bleach and code geass, used to only watch code geass but now that bleach is finally out of the crappy filler that made no sense to make, i am watching it again, still the damn channel has gone cmpletly down the crapper and is proably never going to come out of it. all we can hope is that it gets shut down son and that it gets replaced with an all anime channel and they play kickass anime all day long.

Anyone remember when they showed Cardcaptors and Neon Genesis Evangelion? Those were the good old days...

I used to watch cartoon networck when i was a kid, before my mum cancelled it because i was too lazy. Back then cartoon networck was my favourtie channel, Dexters lab, cow n chicken, weasel and heaps of classic cartoons. I remember when they first released toonami, all they had was pokemon n dragon ballz.

If I ever obtain enough money to start my own channel (Which is extremely unlikely) The first thing I will do is reinstate Toonami and bring Tom back in his original faceless form, the way I could relate to him with. I never thought of him as a robot until they gave him such a metallic face. I will also bring back the shows I'm sure many people loved to watch, like the ones stated in my previous post along with the other posts in this thread. And I don't just mean reruns, I will see to it that these great shows get new episodes. Unfortunately, I think my dream is unobtainable.

truthfully the only thing from this that i think might be unattainable is the new episodes but the rest you put your mind to it and have enough determination for it im sure you could accomplish it. i joke if you do attain this i volunteer to be your v.p.

I stopped paying attention to Cartton Network a while ago but I still watched that Foster's show whenever I saw it on the guide but that just like dropped off the face of the earth or something (except for that marathon a couple weeks ago).
So I only watch Adult Swim now. And by that I mean King of the Hill re-runs and ATHF. Sometimes Robot Chicken too.
And I loved Toonami way back when. Ahhh, nostalgia desu~

Thinking about Toonami makes me really wish for an anime network on basic cable. That would be the shit.
