Headphones or earbuds?

Which last longer and has better quality?

Headphones are A LOT more comfortable then earbuds, by far. Headphones also do a much better job of isolating the sound, which is good when your watching hentai movies (among many other things, of course). :)

A cheap pair of headphones will be better than a cheap pair of earbuds, but you have the bonus of added portability; also, beyond a moderate price point improvements in sound quality are minimal. A good pair of either will last for ages and you can get noise-cancellation, bass boost etc in earbuds too, so it ultimately depends what you'll use them for - I have a relatively cheap headset for the PC, and slightly pricier earbuds for my MP3 player.

As said above, they're just about identicle these days except for a minimal price difference. Basicly up to preference. I prefer Headphones as Earbuds sound fucked up to me for some reason. That and they don't fit in my ear since I had that accident a few years ago...

I mostly would use my headphones for music and games. So so far headphones are better

Headphones by far. They're more confortable and when putting them on, it's like you're in your own dimension...
Also, earbuds tend to hurt me after a while.

Really good headphones not only have superior sound quality, but are so comfortable they're like pillows for your ears. Not to mention ones with noise-cancellation, those are amazing.

Depends what your going to use them for. For computer use, headphones would be ideal. For portable use eg, with a media player, earbuds would be ideal. And by earbuds i don't mean open ear ones, but In Ear Monitors (IEM's).

- not as portable and more of a burden to carry around
- more durable
- more comfortable
- high end headphones generally sound better than high end earbuds
- high end headphones require an amp to power them so they work properly.
- high end headphones don't isolate as well as high end IEM's
- high end headphones cost more than high end earbuds

Earbuds (IEM's)

- very portable
- not as durable
- high end, good sound quality earbuds are much cheaper than headphones
- usually does not require an amp to power high end earbuds
- can be uncomfortable for some
- isolation is far better than headphones
- has better noise canceling effects

Also when buying headphones don't go for the "big" brands to get quality headphones, avoid these companies at all costs if you want quality headphones.

- Skullcandy
- Bose
- Phillips
- Razor - they're headphones arn't that bad, but way too overpriced for what they actually offer.

Does that go for quality earbuds as well? Because i remember ive had in ear headphones before and they were skullcandy. The green ones at that. Does that mean the IEM ones for skullcandy are shitty?

Skullcandy are the worst of the worst, the shitest most overpriced crap earbuds/headphones out there on the market, defiantly avoid them at all costs.

If you can, I'd go for Sennheiser or Sony. Best in my experience.

You say that razer headphones are overpriced but I found a pair on amazon for $70.85 (razer carcharouss) and it had all the features I wanted gaming/music, not usb, had a microphone that looked good so I can move it ad it would look like it is decoration and I already have a DIY amp, and it was just under $70

I use Philips SHE8500 and they have an excellent sound quality for a reasonable cheap price.

Thing is, you can get a better pair of headphones for that exact same price, that's why i feel that their products are overpriced.

People only buy Skulls just because of the design.. but they don't know how TERRIBLE the sound quality is.. That is why I got myself a nice Sennheiser.

Can you tell me witch pair because I havent baught them yet (those skullcandys might sound bad but they look good an they are cheaper)

Earphones make the skin around my ear hurt really quite badly, and I don't know this is just me but I think headphones are sexy, they're one of my favorite tags to search.
