Akira Kurosawa

Probably one of the greatest directors ever. Made one of my favorite movies. Seven Samurai. If you have seen this movie then you should know that this is actually the movie that George Lucas got his idea for Star Wars.

I've seen "Seven Samurai's" but Im not sure what it has to do with Star Wars...Wiki has this to say:
George Lucas states in the DVD commentary for Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, that Yoda's running his hand over his head (like Kambei) is a nod to Kurosawa and this movie. Also the line about the farmers' lot in life is to suffer is quoted in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope but as droids.
Beyond that, Seven Samurai inspired the western classic The Magnificent Seven, and probably a lot of other western movies, which in turn inspired George Lucas when he made Star Wars. The Star Wars movies are basically spaghetti westerns in space.
