Brink the Freerunning FPS RPG
0
Brink is a first-person shooter built around a story mode playable online with up to 8 players or against bots.[1] Custom characters can be created with gear bought with experience points earned by completing objectives. When one player selects a particularly important objective, other team members are offered complementary ones that will aid him.
Brink also features Splash Damage's SMART ("Smooth Movement Across Random Terrain") Freerunning System. It allows players to manoeuvre around complex environments without equally complex input by analysing their position and judging what they are trying to do.
Any thoughts about this game?

If its freerunning I want to see what kinds of Environments you fight in, I bet Multiplayer is going to be a blast

I remember reading about that in one of my PC Gamer issues, it looks pretty good.
It's like per class, you have like a certain "thing" to do. If you are a medic, you have to stick close to your buddies and heal or if you are a soldier, you have to run in and bash or something. I forget.. I'll just have to show you the imaged I ripped out of the .PDF file that came with the issue after it.

Trailers gave me the impression that this is gonna be a hybrid of Killzone, Borderlands, and Mirrors Edge.
Skeptical about the parkour-ish aspects though, seeing as how navigating in an FPS is already a bit clunky. Though that would be remedied if the game allows you to shift gears between third and first person, which would also showcase the neat character customization the game sports.
Will be looking forward to the release if all goes well~

err free running means its something like mirror's edge?
seems complicated and potentially confusing
mirror's edge was clunky and awkward to begin with

A new gameplay video is out: http://gamersyde.com/stream_brink_e3_gameplay-16066_en.html
The customization seems really neat and the gameplay looks really diffrent from the current fps's out like MW, BF and MoH which I like alot because they feel all the same.
And here is an interview that explains alot of the game: http://www.thebitbag.com/2010/06/21/gamers-heaven-andrea-rene-brink-interview-with-richard-ham/

Hmm.. 3 times, if they would release it this fall they would be competing with themself (Fallout), Halo, CoD and MoH. So I guess they delayed it because of all the major titles that are being released now.

If Brink can nail the controls and it's movement scheme, then it may very well become my personal CoD killer. I've always been more of a run 'n gun styled player and this game totally caters to my playing preferences.

So finally might see the light of day?

Mustn't Run Away...
I don't see this game doing the following:
1.running smoothly online
2.not being glitched to infinity online
3.having a diverse enough weapon selection to keep up with the A.D.D of this generations online shooter players

From what I can see from this video, the game seems to take some ques from Team Fortress 2 when it comes to class-based multiplayer. That makes this game all the more appealing to me.
