Mike Medavoy: Co-Producer has stated:-
Their new "Robocop" is a reboot along the lines of "Batman Begins," despite early online rumors to the contrary.
Asked where in the series the fourth film would fall, whether it would come after the first, second or third films in the series' internal universe, Fischer and Medavoy were adamant that it would stand on its own, apart from the character's earlier incarnations.
"None of [the earlier films are] going to be canonical, as a matter of fact," Fischer revealed. "I wouldn't say it's a direct sequel."
"Definitely not a sequel," Medavoy added, saying he preferred the term "reimagining."
However Robocop Reboot was due to be released some time this year, however MGM seems to be blaming james cameron, MGM later put it back to 2011 and now it's been put back a further 2 years to 2013

What's with all the remakes and spin-offs of classic movies and series lately?
If it ain't broken, don't fix it... though there are some decent movies out there, just sayin' though.

A ray of Tsunlight.
This has a 54.3% chance to be fucking awesome.
A more violent/darker Robocop? Count me the fuck in...
I love the original enough as it is.
That Nissan can go fuck off though. Ford Taurus or nothing. Gotta keep with some of the minor details.
Regardless of if it's some dude messing around in Forza 2...

Based from experience ..
most remake or reboot go bit the dust ... doubt it will be good i say ..
and,
what's the meaning for the mobil ? robocop's ?
wonder if that car can change into robot and here i go, Michael Bay ..
in shorter note, i think it will be better with addition poster or trailer

A remake of Robocop? This is the first I've heard of it. Though the original was pretty badass. How can they improve on something that was pretty awesome?
Oh well, as long as the remake doesn't butcher the original.

I'm just holding out for the day some fuck tries to take on remaking Citzen Kane.
I'm sure people will start complaining THEN.
But yeah, remakes are easy and fast money. The original things that come out often get less press, too, so it's a risky industry to create new content in.

The original was directed by the same man who directed Starship Troopers; his films are meant to be tongue-in-cheek, HE SAYS IT IN HIS DVD COMMENTARIES. Observe:
Spoiler:
Robocop shouldn't be remade in the vain of Batman Begins, because it would miss the point of the movie entirely; it's not even old enough that it needs to be remade. Fuck this.

I love the armor~ But i don't like the helmet, they should stick to the
classic look of the helmet as respect to the classic....

O hai Batman, that's a really nice new armor you got there. You got Lucious to upgrade for you?
Idk, it looks okay but you can taste the Batman in the design. Not sure if making it super serious is good or not, thought the old ones were enjoyable as is.

I'm really not fond of his new armor design. Like GSD said, "It has a Batman feel to it."
I know there gonna butcher my favorite movie/movie theme of all time, but I hope they, at least, put it in the ending credits.
